Not saying it will happen but looking at property maps it should be easy and lower cost than the original one to run the skyliner from old key to riveria exchange post where you could then go to Epcot or Hollywood. Then they could extend it onto Saratoga easily from old key.

I may be wrong, but I believe that there is an easement (perhaps for a once thought of monorail) that runs through the properties. Someone on here will know...

Riviera is not an "exchange post". It's a pass-through station to Epcot and CBR. What you're proposing would involve totally redoing that station.

Sorry didn’t mean exchange post. you Would have to get off and get on to head toward Epcot or onto Caribbean if your going to Hollywood. Should be easy to do.personally I don’t like the sky liner, but afraid that’s the future for a lot of transportation.

I don't envision a hub being constructed at Riviera. It's a small station designed solely as a pass-through with minimal on/off traffic.

What would be the incentive for Disney to put skyliner at OKW and SSR - I can think of more than a few reasons why they wouldn’t

What was the incentive to run it from art of animation? I don’t know the answers maybe someone does.
I would guess some of the same, think of all the expense to save on bus drivers, upkeep on the buses. They cant keep bus drivers as it is now. From what I heard before the pandemic disneys future plans was to expand skylines to most of the resorts so they don’t need buses. A skyliner from animal kingdom resort to animal kingdom would make sense. their was an article when they built the skyliner about how it would only take a few years to recoup the cost of it and how the upkeep was greatly cheaper than the buses. I don’t know if the skyliner has been as smooth an operation as disney was hoping but if they feel it works good enough they will use it for saving money in the future. It’s all about the money.
I also wonder if Disney has considered making more waterways to resorts and utilizing boats for more transportation. I enjoy the boats and would like them for more transportation options but then that’s more expense for operators and upkeep so doubt that would ever happen.

I can think of more than a few reasons why they likely will not expand the skyliner system anytime soon.

1} Transfers....going from OKW or SSR to have to change to another station would likely take way longer than the bus system in place now.

2) Construction cost.

3) The skyliner can not run in bad weather

4) Is there enough benefit to members to pay the additional costs in dues for construction and operations?

5) Even if Disney picked up the construction costs, operational costs would be a transportation item in dues, for a system that shuts down in winds and lightning.

Yes there is an easement for OKW and SSR for monorail. We all know that will never happen.
