I see lots of posts about taking the Skyliner to HS, but what time should you line up at CBR or Riviera to take the Skyliner to Epcot if you want to get there as early as possible?

Also, is it better to line up at the CBR station or the Riviera station?

I wouldn't think there is any great rush getting to Epcot like there is to DHS. Epcot doesn't open until 11 so the amount of congestion at the station shouldn't be bad. But I have no actual experience to base this on.

Well, we’re early birds. We always like to be at any park at opening. But, I saw a couple posts where people got in line for Epcot and were stuck behind people lined up for HS, so I’m trying to get a picture of what the line for Epcot will look like and when/where to line up.

I would line up at CBR. No telling how many empty cabins they'll be sending through to Riviera, it seemed kind of backed up when we went through that station in the mornings. At CBR the lines move quick.

That’s a good tip! I was wondering how that worked.

That would have been from Pop. From CBR or Riviera, you'll be heading in a different direction from those heading to HS.

We rode the Skyliner from POP to EPCOT early yesterday morning. The EPCOT Skyliner was scheduled to start at 10:30am. We were in line near the loading area at Caribbean Beach; the EPCOT Skyliner began loading for EPCOT from Caribbean Beach at about 10:08.

I got in line at POP Century at about 8:45. There is only one line at POP Century which loads to go to Caribbean Beach (CBR). After off-loading at CBR, I was directed to the line across and down to the street in front of the Skyliner station. That line consisted of people going to Hollywood Studios and to EPCOT. The line remain a single-line until it was split up at the top of the station. I then waited in front of the EPCOT loading area.

I was in main, single line at CBR for about 25 minutes before reaching the split at the top of the station.

That's how it was one morning for us, as well.

Thanks. It doesn't make sense to have Guests going to Epcot wait behind Guests going to HS from CBR, but I stand corrected.

As I picture the station, if there's a queue for HS extending out of the station, Guests transferring from Pop to HS would have to cross it to get the the Epcot loading area. Mayne Disney just didn't want to pay cm's to control the break in the queue.

This makes me wonder again if it’s better to grab breakfast at the Riviera and then line up there.

Are people at the Riviera just waiting and hoping there is a free car coming from CBR (so, basically “in line” behind the people from CBR) or are there cars set aside for that station?

They do have CMs there to do just that, actually, and direct people to the correct line. It was never the same setup any time I went through the station. One morning DHS and Epcot were in one big line until the top of the ramp to the station (Epcot went into the Epcot queing and DHS went straight down the ramp on the other side with the dead end). Another day (a little later in the morning) the Epcot line was down the ramp and straight across where the DHS line had gone the previous day and DHS was just in it's normal queue. Back at the top the CM would modulate between letting Pop guests through or the Epcot line to cross.

So when Epcot people got to the top of ramp, did they have to wait some more in the Epcot queue, or did they go right to the front of the queue? In other words, was the Epcot line running at capacity (except cabins reserved for Riviera), or was it running with most cabins empty? Because if it was running at capacity, waiting in the combined line wouldn't have added delay for Epcot passengers, and Disney was actually doing a good job of managing the queues to match demand.

we took the skyliner on sunday to and from epcot - the line was VERY long at CBR to go to epcot on the skyliner - we waited around 45 minutes at 10:30am. There was also a decient line at riviera in the morning too!! coming back to the resorts the skyliner line was short.

There was still a bit of a line for Epcot after the lines split. Not long, but you weren't walking right into a cabin.
