Skyliner power failure, passengers stranded

I was coming back to BWI from DS at about 9:45 tonight
When we pulled up to the gate on the bus the road was blocked with a whole lot of emergency vehicles. At first I thought it was an accident but then I saw the ladder truck in the air. I knew it had to be an issue with the gondola

I can't tell which came first
Power failure which led to a crash or a crash which led to a power outage/shut down

So crazy. I just hope everyone is ok. I wonder if anyone was taking a video when it happened.

No idea but I gotta know, why is there a note pad in the emergency kit?
My first thought was jokingly wondering if it was so you could pass firefighters your compensation demands.
But then I started thinking it could be useful to: write down what's happening for a deaf fellow passenger if you don't sign (though your phone probably would work too), to provide a way to entertain a 4 year old (though the phone might work for that too), just to keep people entertained with tic-tac-toe if their phones ran out of power? So you can write a note and send it down via paper airplane?

I'd love to hear the real answer from someone experienced in emergency kits.

ETA: prior poster was faster than me! Also, edited the order of adjectives in one sentence to help it make sense.

Just got a message on the phone in the room that the skyliner will not be operating today. Figured it may be a few days

I would imagine it is the most practical solution for communicating with someone 60 feet below you if they have a bullhorn and you don't.
Possible I guess. But can’t figure out how it help you do that? Make a paper airplane and fly it down?

Saw a posting that quoted the words of some guests who were in one of the crashed gondolas. The guests were saying that they were attended to and able to get out of the gondola quite quickly. The desciption of the crash went something like, "car #1 was still stopped when car #2 (ours) started up and hit it slowly but hard enough to break some windows. Then car #3 hit car #2, also without a big impact.."

It was all of the other guests on the other gondolas on the line who suffered the inconveniences. Although some instances of unwellness were mentioned, none of those guests suffered injuries from the physical impact a crash would create.

thank God we got off the Skyliner around 830pm, its hot as hell up there when its at a standstill

Ugh! Sorry you got stuck! I hope the rest of your vacation was good.

The line we were on had gone down, then they told us to go to a waiting area for buses when we did get out, which weren’t there. Yes we had an awesome 2 weeks everywhere except for Contemporary.
