At least when they have it down for maintenance you KNOW what you're getting into. So all the complainers got what they asked for - no regularly scheduled maintenance. And instead they get "it's broken down and we have to fix it".I was just thinking the same thing. So many people complained about the skyliner being down for maintenance and now there’s situations like OP mentioned. Oof![]()
Serious bummer, it’s so nice usually, this is very unusual. I actually don’t recall days after days of complaints about the Skyliner when weather wasn’t involved before. This was my first experience with the skyliner. It was nice when it was working well, but the unpredictability was very frustrating. We definitely preferred the buses.
When did Disney announce they were doing maintenance in Jan? Because I recall lots of fear about when they would announce for Jan ‘25 but they never did.I bet they're having second thoughts about not doing the maintenance as they said they would in January.
Exactly my first thought after reading this.I bet they're having second thoughts about not doing the maintenance as they said they would in January.
We were there last week of Jan, decided to take Skyliner from BC (Epcot) to HS, and it took more than 45 minutes. Painfully slow with starts and stops the whole way. We opted for the boat back.We were in CBR last week. Most days were okay, but some the skyliner was painfully slow. Many stops and starts. It seemed to impact different lines on different days, so not sure what exactly was going on.
On our Epcot day it took us 50 minutes to get to the park (including waiting to get on) and 70 minutes to get back. The wait in line was bad enough, but being on a skyliner as it slowly crawls along and stops and starts repeatedly is pretty miserable. I don't know why they didn't run busses instead when it was that bad.
Two days later the HS line was down in the morning, they were running buses.
This was my first experience with the skyliner. It was nice when it was working well, but the unpredictability was very frustrating. We definitely preferred the buses.
Maybe we should bookmark this for the next time the inevitable skyliner maintenance watch thread starts...a reminder there IS a reason for it.
Are you seriously blaming the victim here and not the billion dollar corporation? That’s crazy.
Yes only when the Skyliner is down for Skyliner resorts.Dumb question: are the buses to Epcot and HS only running when the skyliner is down or do they run them regardless?
Sorry, but it's a really big leap to assume that Skyliner has run slowly in recent days, and say it's because it's overdue for maintenance! Big leap. We were there late last January just after it reopened from many days of maintenance closure - and it was quite slow on a couple of those trips, too.It certainly seems like the billion dollar corporation caved to the people complaining about it going down for maintenance.
And now they're being blamed for it going down because of what are clearly maintenance issues.
