SkyAuction! Too Good to be true?

Gillian,
You can also pay extra for it. Mine says if you want to upgrade to a 2 bedroom it will be $100.00 extra for the week. I have noticed the 2 bedrooms seem to get more bids then the one bedroom.

Do the skyauction timeshares give you towels? Anything else I need to bring?
I got the Florida Vacation Villas- anyone been there?

For the Ready Set Go auctions, the only thing I am finding with the link on the site are weeks that are available for $499. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what a ready set go auction is. But you just go to www.skyauction.com then click on USA. I then click on hotel only and Florida. (on the right side of the screen)My preferences will show up first then the rest of the auctions. Then just scrool until you see what you want to bid on.

This is sounding VERY interesting, but since I know NOTHING about things outside of Disney, are these places fairly close to Disney? Is one better than the others? Are there any to stay away from? Thanks for any suggestions...this may be the only way I can plan a quick trip in March!

CPM, thanks for your reply. I do know how to do the regular auctions, but am wondering about alvernon90s post above that specifically mentions the Ready Set Go auctions. The link I am seeing does not have any bidding, just a set price.

Yes, some are very close. I know silver lake is right near AK. Cypress Point is on Palm Pkwy which is close to DD. And Westgate is a good location because it's easy to get to US, SW & WDW. The time shares are a good idea for families, lot's of space. They won't make you listen to a presentation either, because most are already boughtspcae. Ebay has some great prices for weekly rentals.
Stay away from Orbit One. Westgate has some older units.

There are ready set go auctions on the main page, but those are a set price. There are ones in with the regular auctions. you just have to look for the ready set go logo thing where the other auctions have resort or plane pics.

Then you can follow the directions in this thread. Hope that helps! :)

Please help me to try to understand this;
this is the Bid
http://www.skyauction.com/jsp/offer.jsp?OFFER_ID=716589

Bid $11.00

plus
Tax and service of $32 per room per night are additional.
32x7=$245.00

and : (prices are per room per night )
$25 Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista Upgrade to the All Semi-Suite Hotel
25x7=$175.00

Total Cost of "room only"=$431.00

Did I get that right?? But For Sky Auction this is too much to pay??
I need to keep a ''room only'' Bid under $275. a week??
Do you look for Auctions with the longest possible time in which to take the trip,ie bid for one thats good thru 12/2003??

To me this seems too high. Especially now as it is up to $17 per night and actually, it's even more than you think. That bid is a PER night bid, so it's actually $17 plus $32 per night not including any upgrade. With a $49 bid you could get a 4* on Priceline. The description of these hotels sounds very similar to Rennaissance World Gate which lots of people get for $35 a night on PL.

Do you have much time before your trip? If I were you I would keep looking. Of course--don't bid against me!! :p

Simply bid on only weekly auctios and one's that fit your time frame.

If you can wait, make alternate reservations and then see what comes up in the last month prior to the trip. Usually you can get these for under $50/week and add taxes of $195. No other charges.

Operators are then dumping rooms. Works really well in off season.

Look now on the site at bids for weeks this weekend or next.

Sometimes I can't understand why people bid so much on cheap hotel rooms! I was looking at the amerisuites in Tampa BG. It was up to $58.00 plus the fee of $15.00 per night & $15.00 processing fee. What the heck? So I booked on valuetrips for $49.00.
I see Comfort Inn's go for over $60.00 a night, don't these people know there are other discount sites available? I wonder if they get caught up in the whole auction thing.

Okay look at high speed auctions. If going to Orlando on October 25th, can get Silver Lakes or Fairfield for probably $250 for the week. This happens almost every week.

Cancel other reservations.
