My sister just called me tonight and said that her tax return was burning a hole in her pocket and she was considering a WDW vacation. Unfortunately, that return is not *that* big and she has 3 kids, so a value resort is out of the question. If she deceides to go, then my mother (and her DH) will not be far behind and we go from a vacation for 3 (just us) to a vacation for 8. We'll need a minimum of 2 2-bedrooms, one for my sister's family and then one for my parents and my family. Has anyone ever booked 2 SkyAuction units? Did the timeshare/condo put you together or near to each other? We're also thinking about a pool home, but we would need one with 3 "master bedrooms" and they are (1) hard to find and (2) about $1200 per week.

depends upon the timeshares. Some are really big like Sheratons Vistana Resort or Orange Lake - so you could be near each other - but more likely not...

not all their timeshares will be empty....they would need to put you in two that weren't being already used or their members were not using them....

now with a little one - you are greatly increased Cypress pointe, Celebration World Resort - there are few others....just because they can't put you miles apart.... these places are that far apart.... so even if they put you as far apart as they can - you only have to walk about 5 minutes to get to your relativies....

with sheraton vistana or Orange lake you could easily drive for 10 minutes and still not get to your relativies villa....

Summer Bay is not that big of a resort. We stayed there through Skyacution last summer but I havent checked their website in a while. In the past I saw the villas of Summer Bay on there quite a bit. It happened to be quiet when we were there so depending on when you go and the crowd level staying there you could be close to each other.

It is right after Orange Lake on 192 but I highly recommend a car....it is too far in my opinion to juggle a shuttle.

Our two bedroom villa had a king bed in the master, a queen in the second and a total of 2 full baths. It also had a sleep sofa in the living area so you should have plenty of space.

Good luck with your Skyauction bids.

We stayed in this house in June. It's 4BR/3BA with a separate LR and Den and comes with a screened pool.

Downside - it only has two master suites (one with a queen bed and the other with a full bed). The other two bedrooms had two twins in each of them. The third bathroom was entered from the hall and located between the twin bedrooms.

It's not elaborately themed but was comfortable and had everything we needed. We liked that it was in a gated community (about 15 or 20 minutes to Disney - it's in Davenport).

We got it at the last minute for $480 a week (including tax). We used a credit card for our own protection (which added 3% if I'm not mistaken). We didn't have pool heat since it was June, so that will add to the cost, I'm sure.

Just email the owners and ask for a price. A friend of ours and got a price of about $600 for Thanksgiving week (with pool heat).

Yes, I did this past October. I had a RSG auction, and so did my friend. We were travelling together, so I co-ordinated everything with skyauction via email. I emailed them both of the the winning bid #'s, and member ID #'s. I told them which resort we wanted and they put it together. I gave them choices of 2 resorts, and said the resort wasn't important, just as long as both families were together. They were able to put both families in our preferred resort.

I was uncomfortable for each of us to book separately, in case there wasn't enough availability for 2/2bdrms.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll keep an eye on SkyAuction :).

Thanks also to sbclifton :). That unit looks like it would work if it were just my sister's family and I, but my mother and step-father would also insist on at least a Queen size bed (or two Doubles). I see that the Davenport homes are attractively priced. Was it a pain to get to Disney?

I do believe that Westgate Lakes Resorts can accomodate up to 8 people in one unit. That can be divided into 2 units to keep both families on their own privacy Try to check that out.

We spent two nights at Westgate Lakes and Spas in a four bedroom (paid $128 a night on skyauction). It had 2 "suite" rooms, and a 2 bedroom unit connected. So there were 3 Master Suites, and one bedroom with 2 doble beds, if that makes sense!?

We checked in around 9:00 pm, and didn't have to talk to any sales people either!

eta: Only issue was the place was plastered with mirrors...as if I wanted to see myself that much!

Robin,

Check out WindsorHillsRents.com I've been doing some extensive looking for something for ourselves on an upcoming trip and know i've run across some that might suit you.

I just checked under 4-bedroom homes and found this description of one of them:
"Two king suites, one master queen, two twin beds"

Their website needs some improvement :P It's especially hard on us firefox users... but the homes are delicious.

You can probably look under 3bedroom condos too. I believe the townhomes are all 2story but I could be wrong. I viewed quite a few of them before I gave up. (I have a bum knee so that would make 1/2 of the home unuseable to me!)

Good luck!

Thanks! It's www.WindsorHillsRent.com (with no "s") and yes, I had to switch to IE to view the site :). My mom is disabled and stairs are hard for her too. I just assumed that she would take whatever room that was on the first floor and not go upstairs. There should just be bedrooms up there anyway and not a big deal to be restricted to the first floor. The houses are *very* nice, but they are $1480 PLUS 13% tax which comes out to $1672!

I found that these homes:

were more reasonable ... although they are a bit farther away.

coool! sorry bout the typo there. I'm posting on the run as it were, trying to get some quality time in before I have to log off! LOL.

Love the neighborhood. Here's a couple more subdivisions for you that have reasonable rates but are pretty darn close! Oak Island Cove, Oak Island Harbor, Indian Creek, Sunset Lakes.

Here's one I found on VBRO with 2 masters and 1 full and 1 with 2 twins...

You don't say what month you're looking to go! This one though comes in well within your budget except for the Holidays (and even then is within budget).

"All weeks are $750/week unless listed below:
Apr,May, Jun .. $775/week
Jun 10th thru Sept 8th - $850/week
Christmas, New year and Easter dates $900 per week
Pool heat - $15 per day if required.
Call Michelle for full details on the home, more photos and floor plan.
Rates INCLUDE 13% taxes and cleaning fees."

/sighs

I wish I could go a week a year and visit all these places!! :cloud9:

I've pretty well decided on a condo for us because it's just DH & DD & me. I tried and tried to talk his family and my family into it, but none of them were really interested :rolleyes2

Here's one with disabled facilities! Not sure if your mom uses a wheelchair or walker or not. Only downside is it has two twin-bedrooms.

Ok, ok, I'll stop (soon). LOL. Where's a good icon for me right now.. ah ha! --> :stir:

We're going in the summer, late June or late July (my BIL cannot get the week of July 4th off of work).

The more that I think about it ... I think we'll need 5 bedrooms since there are 10 of us. There are 6 adults and 4 kids (1 12-year old girl, 2 7-year old girls (who fight like cats and dogs) and 1 6-year old boy). I don't think anyone wants to sleep on the couch.

Villadirect! I love that site! :cool1:

I love all the villa sites :teeth:

Ok, just so that you have options, here's another.
http://www.premierfloridavillas.net/magnolia/

two king-size beds, one double bed, two twins

psst.. anyone want me to go villa window-shopping

eta: 5 bedrooms!! :cheer2: I have to start looking again! Oh how sad for me :lmao:

No, it wasn't any trouble at all, and we were going to Universal instead of Disney (DD loves IOA/US). We went up to the Downtown Disney area several times though (Planet Hollywood, a steakhouse whose name escapes me right now, shopping, etc.).

We went down and caught I-4 most of the time - probably 20 minutes (sometimes we cut through from Hwy. 27 through the Champions Gate area to I-4). It was very easy to get around (grocery store in the area and a Cracker Barrel - which we like - down near I-4).

It was also very quiet (of course, the gated aspect probably helped with that). We'll probably book there next summer again.

Mostly, we liked the price. I've stayed in several rental homes, and we were perfectly satisfied with this one. There were only 4 of us, so we had room galore. But, I do see your point with the sleeping arrangements.

Good luck!
