Hi everyone

I went to sky auction and the deals look great! Has anyone ever bid on hotels and if so was your experience good with Sky auction? Also are there any "catches" I should be aware of? Thanks!

Tom :)

I used them last year for Orlando, have a place booked for this year in Orando, and we are leaving Friday for a place in Wisconsin Dells. I also booked a cruise for last Feb with them.

In both Orlando's, I got a 2 bedroom condo for about $260(that includes their $210 in fees)

The Dells is a 1 bedroom for about $225

The best deals are the ready, set, go auctions

I don't think that most of their nightly rentals are a very good deal- I have seen many of those hotels for less than what they sell for on SA.

If you go for a weekly rental, most people on these boards like Orange lake. I have not been lucky enough to get that one.

Do not expect a full service travel agency. You will have to do the research yourself.

I have never been able to figure out if their airfare is a good deal or not...

I am happy with them. Can't beat the price!

What kind of deal did you get with the SA cruise? We love cruising, but friends of mine won a bid not sure with sky auction, and they got the smallest cabin they have ever seen. Not sure if they were offered an upgrade.

We won the cruise for a total of $473 per person for a week on the Carnival Victory. We got just about the lowest category cabin you can get. I have been on 4 cruises, and yes, the rooms are small, but, unless you get a suite, they are all small! I think the only difference between lower and upper categories on cruise ships are if you have an inside/outside or balcony and what deck you are on.
I knew what to expect so I did not think our cabin was small. I spend so little time in the cabin that I don't care if it is small!

I don't know if we got a huge deal or not(not like the great deals on the condo rentals)- cruise prices were really dropping when we were going, so we probbaly could have gone the traditional route for about $100 more per person- but since we were locked in the auction, we could not switch.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you- I was on vacation(skyauction!) last week. If you have any other ?, let me know.

I just got a 3br condo in Kitty Hawk NC for $250 the week of October 26. it was a Ready Set Go auction and I'm really pleased with that price.

Last spring over Easter we won a 2 bedroom condo in Hilton Head for $210. Units exactly like ours were renting for $1000 that week. What a deal we got!

Good luck!
