Clarification on the pp who replied National: you have to be an Emerald Club member to go straight to the cars.

Not necessarily true. You need to be a member of the Emerald Club to do that, otherwise it is the counter or kiosk.

What about Alamo? I thought that if you were an Insiders member you went to a kiosk and picked your car from the lot. No counter.

Yes, you can use the kiosk at Alamo. This applies even if you are not an Insider member. But, the question was: Which companies let you skip the counter and just go and select the car. While using the kiosk indeed skips the counter, it is not a clear shot to the garage.

Yes you do, but, there are things you cannot add with online checkin, so, sometimes it does not work and you end up at the counter or kiosk.

It is very easy, if you cannot checkin online, you can use the kiosk. There are at least 4 of them inside the terminal by the rental counters.
