Have any of you considered keeping your kids home to stay healthy before your trip? We fly out Monday and debated keeping our kiddo home Thursday and Friday. We already had to rebook last month because he tested positive for covid. Thoughts?

I know it sounds like a good idea, but considering most bugs have an incubation period of a couple days, I'm not sure how helpful it would be.

We haven't gone more than 2 weeks without someone in this house being sick (including me) since Thanksgiving? This winter has been dreadful.

Age would have a lot to do with my decision and school policies. If young and in elementary, I'd have less of a problem. By the time they're in High School, doubt it very much.

It definitely crossed my mind to do something like that for our upcoming trip but I am just going to take the risk. Wash hands and use sanitizer!

Nope. We decided not to travel at all during the school year for this reason. They are constantly being exposed to something at school and we'd rather not have to cancel a trip last minute. We had booked Hawaii for spring break and cancelled it.

We pulled him tomorrow and Friday. Only reason is my husband's Vacation time resets at the end of this month that we have been saving for Disney. School is totally understanding! We may do summer again for our next trip even though it's ungodly hot. We also didn't think covid #s would be this bad again when we booked last summer!

I'm planning on pulling my preschooler out before our May trip for the week before. However he only goes two days a week and it's preschool.
