We just went in October with a 2 year old and 2 adults. We enjoyed our day at Hollywood Studios but we are thinking of skipping it for our upcoming 1st week of May Trip. I do not think toystoryland will be open by then. Does anyone think I will regret this decision? Has anyone skipped HS as of late any input would be appreciated.

I went around the same time you did and I planned on just skipping Hollywood Studios but last minute decided to go and had the greatest time. I wouldn’t have skipped it for the world some of my best memories are from there

I think there's plenty to do in Hollywood Studios, so I wouldn't avoid it. That being said, if, for example, I had only 3 days of tickets and no park hoppers, Hollywood Studios right now would probably be the one I'd skip.

Yep, an often discussed topic. To me, it's sort of like asking if I'd regret not getting chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla or cookies and cream. It's really all about your personal taste, no "right" or "wrong" answer. We love HS, RnR is my favorite ride in all WDW...and TSMM is DW favorite. But that's just us. If it doesn't have a ton to attract you, then skip it. We'd really regret it if we skipped it.

How many days are you going for, and what would you replace HS with?

Dan

We go to HS right up until lunch and then walk to Ecpot, eat lunch and usually stay there the rest of the day.

I skipped it on my last trip. I've been to Disney a lot and have ridden everything in there probably close to a hundred times. This last trip I didn't have park hoppers and didn't want to waste a ticket on that park. We are already planning a trip in November 2018 and will probably only do 2 park days. We will be skipping again as it is now.

Will be there for a week. Replace with another MK day. My son did not like toy story mania. we have to rider swap the rest of the rides. My son did enjy all the shows at HS

Not at all picking on you, but I think this illustrates how it will all depend on someone's views. GreatLakes viewed it as a waste. I wouldn't say they're wrong, that's just how she/he sees it. To me, it's not a waste at all. I've also probably been on the rides close to 100 times and am looking forward to another 100. HS definitely currently has less "rides" than the other parks, and that's a bit of a bummer for me. However, it has some of my favorites, and I do enjoy the shows that it has, so the park isn't a waste of a day for me, even if I only have a short trip.

With a kid that young, probably skippable.

While TSMM, Disney Junior Live and the other shows are fun for kids, it just isn't worth it if you've just been there.

I only went back to DHS with my son (4 1/2 yo) on or last trip because he was into Star Wars, but it was only for a half day because we had spent a full day there when he was 3. In a half day we did Star Tours, TSMM, Star Wars Launch Bay, saw the Galaxy Far, Far Away show and the march of the First Order. That was enough and we hopped to MK for the rest of the day (and was able to do a lot more).

I am in a debate with myself about this too. We have 7 days tickets (no park-hopping) & will spend 2 days each at MK & AK. We will spend 2 days at Epcot or HS, just not sure which to choose.
I feel that Epcot is also lacking much right now. Disney must know this as well & I wish they would allow some flexibility with using a day at a water park without paying upgrade fees.

Only you know if you should skip it based on your likes/dislikes.
I would never skip HS and I don't care about Toy Story land or Star Wars land. (Once the areas are open I'll probably try at least some of the attractions but I have my set attractions that I must do and it doesn't matter what else HS has or does not have)

Does anyone think I will regret this decision?

We go just for TSMM, rope drop it, FP the same ride immediately afterward, then maybe hit a show or two, grab a bite and hop to another park. Dunno why, but my wife LOVES that midway ride- so ya know what they say- 'happy wife happy life' :)

With a 2yo I would probably skip it...I know there is 'enough' to do but I don't feel like there is a TON for the littlest Disney fans.

I guess only you can answer this question. Since you've already been to WDW, you know what to expect from each park. If another day at MK sounds more appealing, then by all means do that.

One recommendation that I can provide is to stick with what you know you love at WDW. Our second WDW vacation, our goal was to try all of the attractions that we had missed the year before. Well, after about 3 days of that we found out that we weren't having nearly as much fun as the first trip. It was because we were doing all of the less popular attractions because those were the ones we missed the first trip (for good reason we found out). As soon as we went back to doing the headliner attractions that we knew we loved, everything turned around and it was magical again.

Having said all that, we would never skip HS, but that's because it's our second favorite park (behind MK). To each their own though. Do what works for you.
