DH and I are at Disney now and tried Skipper Canteen for the first and last time last night. I owe you an apology for thinking you were exaggerating in your posts on another thread about this place. I ordered the pork, got two mouthfuls of fat covered in a thick salty sauce, and left the rest untouched. Our server removed it without comment, leading me to believe this was not uncommon. This is the one dining place on property I really HATE, after eating there last August.
The food is so salty a non-adventurous diner would not even notice any exotic flavors and the service was extremely slow. I highly discourage.

Honestly I wouldn't have cared so much about the salt. But the meat was all fat. It was the first time in all my years of eating in restaurants that I can say I was served an inedible meal.We ate there on Halloween...and had the same thoughts about the pork, rather disappointed in it, it was definitively too salty.
But the falafel appetizer was very good though, and the Kungaloosh desert was great
I had sesame chicken like that a couple of years ago, but it was from a local, trashy Chinese restaurant...Honestly I wouldn't have cared so much about the salt. But the meat was all fat. It was the first time in all my years of eating in restaurants that I can say I was served an inedible meal.
I'm a huge huge fan of Indian food - love the lamb vindaloo in particular. We also love Thai food. It's not that Skipper Canteen had unfamiliar flavors. It's just that the food we were served was of very poor quality. It sounds like you fared much better. We ate there about a month after it opened and really liked it. Note - we eat a lot of Indian and Chinese and Thai food at home anyway, so the flavors were not unusual to us. They also had a bubble tea.
We had the vegetarian curry and also a black cod in a light soy broth with baby bok choy that was a daily special that was really, really good. I would definitely go again.

I've kind of heard the opposite - the food was described to be much more adventurous than it really was. But I could be the one misremembering.
