Any recent reviews of their menu...is it worth the price and/or wait? Visiting in February and wondering if we should try? Thanks!

Here is my recent review:

We had lunch here today and I have to say that I was disappointed. We had the falafel, which was probably the best part of the meal, to start. I had the steak salad which was wilted and very peppery/gingery. I enjoy spicy foods but I did not enjoy this salad. My DH had the pho which he said cost 3x more than any pho he had ever had and was missing something. My DD had the Mac and cheese without the meat. It was a smallish bowl of noodles slathered with a cheesy bechamel sauce. Way more sauce than noodles. We ended with the congee which I enjoyed but the rest of my family did not.

At $20 per entree for a bowl of noodle soup, a bowl of goopy mac and cheese and a salad with 5 pieces of meat the food was very overpriced. Even for Disney. Add to the mix there are no discounts and our $105 lunch for three felt like highway robbery.

The restaurant was cute. Our skipper was entertaining. The food was bad and overpriced. We won't be back.

Not worth the price. We had lunch here on Dec. 29 and it was mediocre at best. Good MK TS continue to be sorely lacking. We will continue with MK CS or having vastly superior TS meals at the MK resorts.

Ate there on 1 Jan, and found it to be okay--nothing exceptional but nothing awful. Good service, solid but unspectacular food, but has potential. Rather than do a full reply here, if you're interested, I just finished doing a review on the Dining Review sub-forum.

Thanks for the info...I'll check the sub-forum for your review! I think we'll skip it this trip!

We went over Christmas, I just wrote a big review of our experience at the Jungle Skipper Canteen on my blog if you want some more detailed thoughts about it (from my family at least!): http://www.onceuponamickeybar.com/jungle-skipper-canteen/
Our conclusion: putting aside our disappointment with the food and the prices (because maybe they'll get more in line with time), you have a limited number of food options on your vacation and this just isn't worth the belly space lol!

Thanks for the info...great blog!

We wanted to try it because it's new, but I don't think we'll be back unless they make some menu changes. The best part were the drinks. Some fun choices.
