Skip Fantasmic??

will you be taking a break mid-day for your kids to rest? if not, keep in mind that a disney vacation is stimulating, exciting - it tires them out a little more quickly than usual when they are little. until this year, we always had to take nap breaks with my kids or they would "lose it" by 8pm. they always sack out immediately after putting them in bed, though. :)

the show lasts around 25 minutes, I believe...so you'll be exiting the theater around 9pm. it depends on where you're staying as to how long it takes to get back to your hotel...also, how quickly you can walk to your bus stop (or car, if you're driving). We stayed at AS Movies when we went, and I think in all, it probably took us an hour to get back to the hotel after leaving the theater this last time (via bus).

if you go...try to sit close to the area that will be let out first...toward your right as you enter the stadium. we've gone twice to Fantasmic...first time we sat more toward the left side of the stadium, and it took FOREVER to get out...plus people were pushing in tight on each other to get toward the other side of the stadium to get out. we had to hold the kiddos really closely, and even then I was afraid to lose grip on them in the crowd. reminded me of bourbon street on mardi gras day-without the alcohol. :scared1: the 2nd time we went we sat in that reserved area, and it was much easier to get out...still crowded, but since we were some of the 1st people out there wasn't as much shoving.... maybe you could find a spot near that reserved area.

We're planning on doing the dinner package as well so we can eat, go to the show, and go back to the resort to go to bed!

One question, I read that reserved seating guests go through a different entrance than the other crowd. Does that mean we park our strollers in another location? And can we exit there or does everybody exit the same way?

I say, if you really want to see Fantasmic....and, you should....then just plan your day to get there 2 hours early, get a good seat and sit....it makes for great people watching! I think it is worth it and we do it every trip, no matter what. The wait doesn't bother us.

When we went in FEB 2009 we went through the same entrance as everyone else & parked our strollers where everyone else did. There was a CM at the area that is reserved, and they took our tkts and showed us to the reserved area. We all exited the same way as well...our section were some of the first ones out.

skip it unless you have an overwhelming need to watch a movie projected on water

seriosuly, dont miss wishes or spectro, even illuminations(not my fav but better than fantasmic)

dont miss epcot too much to do there and you will need all day to do it.
if you have hoppers and have an overwhelmning need to see F then go to AK for the day and when they close aroynd 5 hope over to DHS

But if you just have 4-5 days dont waste time on F..do that one on another trip

I agree with this. If you must see hop from AK to DHS since AK closes at 5.
Dont make Epcot or MK days shorter you need them.

I had this in my subscriptions b/c I'd replied to it just before our trip. I was wondering what you ultimately did and if you saw or skipped Fantasmic.

I must say I bent over backwards to see the thing b/c everybody recommended it -- and was SO disappointed! My 9-y-o even asked when it was going to be over and commented it was nothing special, just sprays of water with movies on it. OVERRATED in my opinion. You?

I am thinking of skipping it myself. It seems to be such a hassle to fit into my schedule. I don't want the dinner package, but I don't want to wait in line for over an hour. I have 4 "10" days on my schedule and I cannot imagine the crowds on Fantasmic nights.

I am actually thinking of touring DHS one the morning of our 1st day and doing MVMCP that night. It seems DHS is the one park many say can be done in a day. If the kids love it and want to go back, we will, but I am leaning against making firm plans to be in the park in the evening for it.
