Skechers Shape-Ups..

I got these on sale at Kohls for $70 (I had the sought after 30% off code)

I also wanted to mention that I bought my Shape-Ups from Kohls with a 30% off code. This brought the final price down to $70.

I believe Kohls is having that sale again at the end of the month.
I had a 30% off coupon a couple of weeks ago, and my DD and I wandered around Kohls looking to save (spend ;)) money. :) And they had the "Spend $50 Get $10 coupon" deal going on at the same time. And I tried on the Skechers, but they felt too weird. And they ARE ugly, which my 19 yr old DD pointed out, laughing hysterically. So I didn't get them. Darn. Kind of wish I did. Today I got a 15% coupon. Bummer. Maybe I'll get them the next time I get a 30% off coupon...and I'm leaving DD home.

I bought a pair of the Avia and they are very comfortable. These are the first pair of sneakers I can actually wear all day and my feet won't hurt.

I thought of the Skechers but they were too ugly. The Avia's are all white so they don't stand out as much.

My sister just got a pair of the Avia ones and loves them! she was just telling me about how great they are and how I have to get a pair

Aargh!! You guys have me wanting these shoes. :) But does anyone know of any of these that aren't made with leather? I know the Sketchers are for sure. :confused3

I absolutely love my sketchers. I had back surgery two weeks ago (minor surgery) and have been in pain since August. I bought a pair of the shape ups and have been wearing them for a week and I feel great. I am pretty sore at night when I get home (mainly from the surgery) but I can get through most of my day, on my feet (teacher) virtually pain free. I love these things. :goodvibes

due to a rare muscle disease I'm learning how to walk again. I was stuck in bed for 2 years, so my calf muscles are shot. Now that I'm in remission, I'm ready to get stronger again. I've been wearning Sketcher Shape-Ups for about 5 months now. I LOVE THESE SHOES! My calves are toner and I feel more secure when I walk. They also allow me to stand up straighter when walking and it takes the pressure off my back. I swear by these shoes, they were worth the $110!:thumbsup2

That is a great sucess story! You should contact Sketcher's to share your story.

I have Shape Ups and I LOVE them! I wear them everyday - except when I have to work at my part time job because I need to wear black shoes there and my Sketchers are white. But I find myself trying to do the Shape Up walk at work, but it's not the same with regular sneakers.

As far as toning is concerned, I've seen a small difference. I've always had strong calf muscles, but I have noticed a bit of a difference.

I will get another pair for sure because they are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn.

Sears has the Dr. Scholl's brand Fitness Walker. They are exactly like the Sketchers at about 1/2 the cost. I am looking at the women's style and they run $49.99 to $59.99.

My BF got a pair and she loves them. I tried hers on and they feel pretty good.

Yep, I also think they are the ugliest thing too! I'd rather use weights and do exercise than wear those. :/

I have 2 pair. I wear the Mary Jane's to work everyday, and I have the black lace up's that I use as my after work walking shoe.
I LOVE these shoes. They have made my walking posture much better. As a PP stated, you do need to walk correctly in them. The shoes come with instructions. I wore my lace up's on a hilly walk last week and my backside and back of my thighs ached all week :rotfl: Guess I need to do more hilly walks!

When you first started walking in them, did your arches hurt? I tried mine for the first time today and my arches burned a little, but I did also feel a burn in my thighs and my posture was great. I'm not sure if the arch thing is connected to the sneakers or the fact that my dogs kept trying to pull me.

I just bought a pair of Sketcher Tone Ups sandals. They are really cute and the work the same way as the shape ups!

I own the Shape-Ups and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I don't think they are ugly at all. In fact, I get an extra couple inches of HEIGHT (Woohoo~!~!) and I can feel them working my legs. I ran (well, walked briskly) around WDW in Feb. with them on everyday. This was the ONLY trip where I didn't get blisters or sore feet. It felt like I was gliding.......

Truly the best pair of tennis shoes I have ever owned.

Don't hold your breath about being cellulite free by Friday.....ROFL ;)

ITA, I wore mine for a week at WDW for Spring Break and they ROCKED. It was the first trip that I can remember that I wasn't aching and grumpy at the end of the day.

I wore my regular tennis shoes last week to walk the dogs and felt like I was walking bare on the concrete compared to the cushioning in the Skechers. I used them last night for the same walk and could def feel the difference in my legs and butt.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Kmart has the sneakers and their own brand of Fit flops. I had on my very expensive Fit flops and tried on a pair of the Kmart brand and didn't feel any difference other than the leather on the new ones hadn't stretched and they were a bit snug.
I just tossed my 2 year old Avon Curves sneakers and have to buy another pair. I will check out the Kmart and Walmart brands tomorrow.

I just got a pair because a woman was raving about them when I got my hair colored. They are the UGLIEST shoes ever!! I hope they work because I would hate to wear these things for nothing:confused3 I will do my morning walk with them tomorrow and I better be buff and cellulite free by friday:lmao:
Nah...I'm pretty sure that title is held by Birkenstocks, LOL.

^^^^This is the perfect description. They're lighter than air. And best of all, I can wear them for hours, no back pain.

They're heaven-sent, in my book.

I just bought a pair of the Shape Ups and I really have to get used to walking in them. I'm not used to the squishiness and I have to work hard at not falling over :rotfl:

They're pretty horrid looking so I hope they're woth it!

I have been checking the Skecher Shape-Ups out recently. I have a pair of Fit Flops that I bought almost 2 years ago and I think I've worn them so much that they've lost their effect. I felt it after wearing them the first summer season, but when it comes down to it, my butt is no perkier now than it was then! :rotfl: But seriously, I'm considering the Shape Ups, or some variation.

I was really sold on these but after 4 weeks of walking 4 miles 4 times per week I never once got sore. Yesterday I put on my regular walking shoes and I am very sore today.

I am of the opinion that Shape ups actually make walking easier rather than more challenging. Now if I was walking up hill all the time I would say the Shapes provide a workout. For regular walking though, I no longer feel they offer much of a benefit and actually might hinder your exercise goals.

OK, I am not a fan of these at all. Anything that 'makes it easy' to excersize isn't really giving you a full excersize. I was actually given a pair of these for Christmas. I've worn them to work...5 days a week...

They teach you to walk the WRONG WAY!!!! Ask any foot Dr. A person is supposed to walk fast/run LANDING on the foot right under the toes...NOT on the heel of your foot. Landing on the heel of your foot puts tremendous pressure on your legs. When you land on your foot, your leg is not supposed to be straight. My podietrist (sp???) said to stay away from these shoes! He actually told me to stop wearing them. People who wear these frequently will have foot and walking problems in the future...Sure, they are great for the first months, or even a year- but after that knees, feet and legs will not like you!

I was watching a tv clip on the 700 club about these shoes and the fittness expert said that these shoes are not worth the money. There are too many 'padded shoes' for people who don't need the padding. YES, some people need that padding. BUT, when you think about the 1,000's of REALLY GOOD runners and fast walkers, they have the LEAST amount of padding (think of countries like Africa or like that...they come to the USA and KILL our times in races!!! It's all about the shoes they wear!)

Not saying we all need to be runners or faster or the best, but if we 'teach' our bodies to become USE TO these types of products, we won't ever walk properly.

No way, no how. They look like orthopedic shoes. :scared:
