Does anyone here have any experience or recommendations on the Skagway Hike and Float?

I believe it is the same general excursion as Disney's http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/c...way-alaska/chilkoot-trail-hiking-and-rafting/

Ironically Disney requires 10 and up and I contacted the company directly and they frequently take much younger children out and had no hesitation when I asked about my 4 and 8 year olds (who have been hiking with me in similar terrain (or in some cases more difficult) as what is shown in the youtube videos.

The girls both wanted to do some hiking and the rafting looks like a lot of fun as well but I'd love to hear some reviews from here, especially if you took kids with you.

We did it and it was fun. It's a fun little hike. Nothing strenuous at all, but it's fun. The rafting portion is a very easy float. The guides let each of our children steer the boat.

We had the driver drop us off at the Gold Rush graveyard. We walked back to town afterwards.

My husband and oldest son did this in June. Both really enjoyed it a lot. They said the hike was on uneven terrain, so it may not be the best for people with bad knees. The float was relaxing and enjoyable. The guide was fabulous.
