Hi there

I am totally clueless about DLP.

my hubby and i are looking at a possible Europe trip this year and it would include Paris so would love to do DLP.

We have been to WDW twice now and wonder how it compares in size eg is WDW magic kingdom the same size as DLP (the disneyland park)?

Walt Disney studios doesn't look that intersting so would skip that.

Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

I have found the offical site so am looking at that at the moment.

Thanks

Sorry me again.

Do they do the fireworks over the castle and what do they call it?

Having been to both quite a few times, I would say that DLP Magic Kingdom is a fair bit smaller than WDW Magic Kingdom, but you do get Parisian wind and rainfall which is an advantage if you are a fan of rubbish weather! - I unfortunately love the sun and therefore use Paris to get my fix while I am saving to go to Orlando again.
No Mickeys Philimagic, Splash Mountain, Character coasters etc...

Studios in Paris has some great shows - so if you were able to see Anamagique or Cinemagique, ride Armageddon and then, if the trip is after Halloween ride ToT! - you would not find it a dissapointment.

I think if anything DLP is a slightly larger site. If you are thinking how long to spent at the park then a day and a half would be advisable.

There are many things that DLP scores highly in terms of rides and theming that I'm sure your trip would be very enjoyable. Not that we are bias :teeth:

Disneyland Paris is by far the largest magic kingdom of all the Disney Parks where acreage is concerned. However it does not have as many attractions as Florida or CA. It was the most expensive disney park ever build. The materials used in building Main Street and Fantasyland are real and it shows. Wood is wood, bricks are bricks, the tile roofs are true italian tile etc. Mastercraftsmen were hired to do much of the wrought iron detailing on the roof lines of the castle. It is truely an elegant park. In the US the facades on main street are molded fiberglass and the level of detail is not there when compared to DLP.

Disneyland Paris(park only)140.850067 acres = 57
hectares

Toyko Disneyland 126.023745 acres = 51 hectares

Magic Kingdom (Orlando, the MK park only)
107 acres = 43.3013637 hectares

Disneyland (California) 85 acres = 34.3982796 hectares

Hong Kong Disneyland 70 hectares (?) = 172.973767
acres

Obviously the resort as a whole is a lot smaller than WDW, but as people have said the actual size of Disneylanmd Park is bigger than Magic Kingdom.

For myself, not a fan of long haul (or any!) flights DLP is perfect, and even when we have contemplated going to Florida (i've been four times, but only when i was 'ickle) we decide against it, i think me and my girlfriend prefer the "intimacy" of the smaller resort that is DLP :)

The info that I have says that this park is 126 hectares (310 acres) with hotels included and that the park itself is only 100 acres so about 40 hectares.

Ah okay :) wasnt sure. I am sure sure the info I found is accurate as it dates to the opening of the park. Thought they might have enlarged it since.
