Size of Carry-on

I was wondering if there is a size restriction on carry-on luggage?

Carry on to the ship? I am not sure, but keep in mind that you have to tote it around with you until they open the cabins...despite what I've read here, I could not get to my cabin to dump it and then go to lunch and walk around...that was a bit tough...while going through the buffet line! *grin*

Ok, I must be the only person who read my cruise documents cover-to-cover!

According to the "Passport to Disney Magic", a booklet that you will recieve with your cruise documents, page 8 clearly states that: "guests may carry aboard one day bag plus a purse or briefcase. Carry-ons must not be larger than 9" X 14" X 22"."

That being said; I am sure that I was the only one there to measure my family luggage! There were a lot of people there with things much larger than that and certainly there was no one standing around the port with a yard stick.

However, keep in mind that in order to enter the cruise terminal you will have to go thru security. Your carry-ons will pass thru a conveyer belt X-ray machine like they have at the airports. All of our stuff fit thru, so I don't know what happens if it doesn't. I assume that it would have to be searched by hand, which would slow up the process and not endear you to your fellow cruise passengers!

They really, really frown on hand searches for oversize items, moreso since they moved the security checkpoint to the entrance to the terminal. They will politely insist that anything that cannot fit thru the scanner become checked luggage.

I didn't see anyone who had anything that didn't fit thru, so it is good to know what would happen if the luggage wouldn't fit.

Now I don't feel so bad about being obessive about the size of our luggage!
