We're staying in a studio for 2 weeks. I know it's only a half fridge but I've only seen the outside in pictures. Is there room for a half gallon jug of milk or will I have to buy the tall skinny quart size milks and store them on the door shelf?

I'm thinking I may need to bring/buy a cooler & stock it with ice to have more room - does this sound like a good idea?

Thanks!

Doreen,

The studio refrigerator actually holds quite a bit. We buy a quart of juice, quart of milk, LOTS of bottled water, and have no problem fitting it in. Now the freezer is a different story...

The freezer is VERY small. We can fit a half dozen breakfast sandwiches and some small items but that's it.
Hope this helps.

I agree. The fridge, which I found to be a typical dorm fridge, does hold an adequate amount. It was just the two of us and we had half gallons of milk and orange juice, fifteen 12oz bottles of water and a two litre bottle of soda. There was still more room. The freezer is tiny, but I turned up the fridge too high and froze some of the water bottles close to the freezer area and some of the soda.

Hope this helps.

You can buy milk right at the general store at any DVC resort so taking 1/2 gallons should not be necessary. The same holds for juice, should be just a simple stop to get the drinks on your way into your room from the parks daily. The small refrig should be big enough if you do it that way. At OKW you have ice machines at every bus stop so you can get plenty of ice that way. The rest of the resorts should have ice machines for you also. You can buy plenty of water and soda all over the place at WDW also. Good luck!

The fridge held a lot more than I thought it was going to. We had bought half gallons, but it probably would have held gallon jugs. We also managed to fit two small cake boxes, 12 cans of soda, 16 juice boxes, a bottle of apple juice, strawberries, and grapes in there. I was amazed and impressed!

We always buy a gallon of milk and a gallon of OJ. They both fit. The refrigerator is an undercounter refrigerator, not dorm sized (or cube). Freezer is tiny. Don't count on keeping food frozen in the studio refrigerator.
