Would someone like to chime in and help me figure out our travel days? I want to get the most bang for our buck.
Facts:
- Staying on property Tuesday July 26 to Sunday July 31. Pop and Polynesian
- Six days of tickets with park hopper
- Driving from Tulsa, OK (approximately 20 hour drive)
- Family of four (kids both 12 years old)
- Our 4th trip in 6 years
- Flexible to leave Tulsa on Sunday if necessary

My question is should we try to leave Sunday so we can stay close to property on Monday night and get a full day out of our first day of tickets? I feel like we are wasting our tickets on arrival day and departure day. We have reservations for Ohana on Sunday and then plan to pop over to the MK for a couple of hours before hitting the road.
Any suggestions?

I would. But I think you meant leave on Saturday?

I'd leave as early as possible Saturday and drive within 5 hours. Sleep. Drive the rest early Sunday and head to the park, but it'd still be an easy day. I think you guys are going to be exhausted with no break.

Is your first day in the park on Tuesday? If so I would leave in time for my last night on the road to be within an hour or so of Disney. Can't you leave your suitcase/stuff at the hotel and then head for a full day at the park? - This is what I'm hoping to do in Nov.

This is exactly what we are doing. We are driving the majority of our distance on Saturday and the last 5 hours on Sunday (leaving at 6a).

You can, but I'd just leave it in the car and go straight to the park.

We are experienced long distance drivers. My poor kids. LOL. Now I am kicking around the idea of leaving early Sunday (7 or 8 am) and driving 10 hours. Then waking up and driving to WDW Monday, arriving in the evening and staying at Pop on Monday night for a fresh start, full day on Tuesday. I just priced adding one night at Pop and it came to to $652. :crazy2: I am assuming I'm not doing it right. We are staying with the Storybook Summer promotion.

If you have a package with tickets and/or dining plan when you try to add-on a night it will included those. I just checked and a room only at Pop for 7/25 rack rate was $163 plus tax.

We have around the same drive time as you only we are coming from around Niagara Falls Canada! This Novemeber will be our fourth time doing the drive with our little ones (9, 6 and 3). Well 3rd time for our DS3. We have split up the drive a bunch of different ways but liked the way we did it last year the best. We drove 10 or 11 hours the first day and the rest of the drive on day 2 ending at Holiday Inn express in the disney springs area. It has a free breakfast, so we ate and checked into CBR the next morning. Our room was not ready yet, so we kept our luggage in the car and went to the parks until around 3. We went back to the resort unpacked and went back to the park for a little while. We wanted to get full use out of our tickets and after the long drive the kids really wanted to finally go to the parks!:)

Thank you for looking it up!!! My guess is that I should call and talk to a CM rather than do it online.

I would drive in and stay in the area on Monday night. f you can get into Pop for the extra night, great! I would get in early enough to enjoy some non-park activities if possible, things like enjoying the pool or Disney Springs.

I would leave early Sunday and drive as much as I could, then stay either on property or close by on Monday.
