Sitter City - parent's advice please!

Hello. I am a nanny who is looking for a new job. I heard about the website sittercity from a friend and signed up. Do any parents here use this? Any tips on what you are looking for when trying to find a babysitter? I am going to be renewing my CPR/First Aid certification and will be adding that to my profile, as well as a background check. If parents have any other advice, i'd be very grateful. Thanks!

I do. And those 2 things are great. I definitely look for people who've already provided background checks and with First Aid/CPR certification. Also, public references and reviews.

Can you put up a notice at your college? We have two local colleges here that have a list and when parents call the college they have a list of students who are interested in being a nanny or babysitting.

you may also want to try care.com, they've been advertising on TV lately so you may get some interest there, as well.
