Site visit and hotel discount

Hi everyone -

We have our site visit planned for May of 2008. We already have our room reservations, but Bill (our consultant) mentioned once in passing about him being able to get us room discounts for the site visit. We have a call into him BUT does anyone know how big of a room discount that Disney offers for site visits???

There is no special rate specifically for site visits, but you can activate your AP and change your current reservation to the AP rate if there are rooms available. We did this with our vouchers and activated the passes when we arrived.

SarahInMN, for my site visit and my planning session visit, I was on my own. That is, I had to book my own resort reservations and no discounts were offered to me by anyone. If the FTW folks are now offering discounts for site and/or planning session visits, that is news to me and I think it's wonderful. I hope you can get such a discount. However, if one does not exist, consider purchasing an Annual Pass and see if you can secure an Annual Passholders' Discount. Good luck!

By the way, if you don't want to go the Annual Pass route and you're a member of AAA, see if you can get a AAA discount rate for your room. It doesn't hurt to try!

We didn't get a discount for our site visit either. I was wondering about that though because my planner did have me email her our reservation numbers before we came down so I was thinking they might do something like that....but nope.

SarahInMN, I've got my fingers crossed that you weren't mislead. I am very hopeful that they're offering some sort of discount. Please let us know as soon as you hear anything from Disney for certain.

If I decide to go through with a vow renewal for next year, believe me, I would love to have a discounted room without having to fight for one via being an Annual Passholder. Sometimes AP Rates aren't offered for certain resorts and/or certain dates. However, if the FTW folks were offering a special discounted rate as part of a site visit or planning session, that would help ease the pain of the planning process, if ya catch my drift.

Again, please let us know what you find out. My fingers are crossed.

Discount or not, we're going to stay at GF during our site/planning visit since that's where we'll be "based" during the wedding trip.

It is a bit of a bummer (especially since you're staying at the Grand!) but they more than made up for it after the wedding. We had planned to stay on the concierge level of the Poly for our complimentary night and then switch to a cheaper room. But they bumped us up and let us stay where we were for the rest of the trip at the lower rate.
