Do any sit down resturants offer take out like Applebees or Outback? Reason I ask is because my 3 favorite spots are sit downs and booked for months! I was hoping maybe I could get something to go and eat at the hotel by the pool.
I don't think so...especially if they are the more popular restaurants, which yours seem to be if you say they are booked for months. They will probably be too busy to make food for take-out.
Beyond a very rare isolated exception to the rule, no restaurants offer a "To Go" service. They do box up leftovers, but you can't go to the podium and order a complete meal to go.
I have found out, however, that some menu items at certain restaurants can be bought elsewhere. (most of the time for cheaper!) For example, tonga toast at the Kona cafe can be bought at Captain Cook's or the peanut butter and jelly milkshake from 50s primetime cafe can be bought at the bar.
mousesavers.com lists several items that are like this and doing a google search helped me find out about the milkshake.
1) It takes the same time to cook a take-out as it does a sit-down.
2) So, takes outs are usually not available.
3) It is still a matter of time in the kitchen.
This makes me sad lol. I'm going with some serious meat eaters and they wanted ADRs at LeCellar and the California Grill both of which are booked hard. We booked the trip a few weeks ago so every seat for our entire vacation Lunch and Dinner were accounted for. Oh well at least I get to go to Disney!
Don't fear. La Cellier and CG are 2 of the hardest reservations to get at Disney. I am sure if you look at other restaurants and some early or late reservation times you will find something unless you are looking for a huge group. Go to www.allears.net and look at the menus and give it a shot i am sure something will come up.
BTW Applebee's and Outback are really not restaurants.
