Heading to Disney during free dining - yeah!!
Well, I made reservations for my parents to dine at Boma. My mom is really looking forward to it!
Well, I am not a big fan.....so looking for a place to use my table dining credit for that evening.
Would like to see Wishes at the Magic Kingdom that evening at 10pm.
Where to go? Any suggestions?

Well based on that I would obviously either suggest eating inside the MK, or at a monorail resort.

Personally, I would recommend the Kona Cafe. The food there is really good, and I always like an excuse to go to the Poly. I love Ohana but I think based on the family style servings it's less fun to eat there alone.

I'd rule out the Contemporary:
Chef Mickey's (unless you like characters)
The Wave (menu looks blah)
CA Grill (2 TS points)

Over at the GF, I like the GF Cafe. So that's another option. Narc and Citrico's are Sigs.

Inside the MK, the only 1 TS restaurant I like is Tony's. The Plaza is a joke as a TS, Crystal Palace is another character meal, and I was highly disappointed in the Liberty Tree Tavern.

Of course opinions vary, but that's just my advice based on my experience, and taste buds!

#1 Kona
#2 GF Cafe
#3 Tony's

Whatever you choose, have fun!

Thanks - this non-adventurous eater has got to try someplace new.....

Always helpful!
Have you been to Ragland Road at DTD?

I have! Opinions are gonna vary on this one. I have a friend who loves this place. I was underwhelmed. If you have an affinity for Ireland though, you'll find the ambiance appealing!

Oh no I made reservations for the Liberty Tree Tavern, perhaps I will reconsider. Was it the menu selection or quality of the food? Thanks!

Well you might find somebody who loves it, but I did not. It was a little bit of everything. The theming was bland. It didn't look much better than the Columbia Harbour house. And the food was average at best.

Here is the menu: http://allears.net/menu/menu_ltt.htm

If it looks good to you, I say go for it. But from my personal experience, it was pretty lame.

Thank you so much, I ate there many years ago and it was sponsored by some frozen dinner company. I forget the name. Sounds as if they have not improved much. I think I will try Tony's instead, thank you for the menu link as well that will be a great help in planning my other reservations!

ltt my dh loved it but he likes tv dinners (theres a term that ill age ya) I thought it was like the stouffers frozen food meals....if I am going to eat stouffers frozen food I can do that in my villa

I have never eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern.
But I used to love Columbia Harbour House and I think they have really gone down in my opinion. I would always get their chicken fish combo while on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. The chicken fingers have become nuggets and the fish pieces were just not that great.
Hoping that turns around.

Haven't tried Tony's either - but I couldn't get that to come up with an opening that night....sniff sniff:confused3

I think (1) Kona Cafe and (2) GF Cafe are good advice.
I have eaten at GF Cafe last two times at WDW (almost 10 yrs apart - Jan. 2000 and Dec. 2009). Both were a lunch break from MK rather than dinner, but for either they have items that would appeal to a non-adventurous eater; atmosphere is pleasant and an easy hop to MK. For our trip in Sept. we have a ressie at Kona the evening of EM hours so can monorail it back to MK. I wouldn't rule out the Wave at CR if other things don't work - it appealed to me (but check out menu for yourself). I think dinner solo would be nicer at a resort than in park, but that's just MHO. Have fun whatever you do!

I was able to change my parents reservation at Boma up to 4:50pm, instead of the 8:10 time they had previously!
So, I was able to book myself at the Grand Floridian Cafe at 5pm! So dinner there and the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom! Perfect!

I also set us up for dinner at Ragland Road on Friday night....
Trying to get our time at Cape May Cafe moved up too - I just don't like eating that late...8:15pm reservation time currently for the 5th.

Thanks for your opinions - will let you know how it works out. I plan to write a trip report! :goodvibes

Congrats on the ressies! Looks good. :thumbsup2

Have you ever eaten at Cape May before? Heads up: everything is good there! So show up starving.

And whatever you do, save room for the Oreo Bon Bons. :cloud9:

I have eaten breakfast there, but not dinner.
Thought my parents would love the seafood buffet!
