Sit down! Buckle up! & Hang On! Mickeystoontown's Gang is going to Walley World! 5/15

When you look at it that way, you are hardly gone. Let him pout, and foot stomp...YOU deserve a vacation. :)

I know! I never take sick days or personal days so I'm taking those extra vacation days. ::yes::

Sounds like your boss might not be to happy about your vacation. But it is only 7 days so that is reasonable :thumbsup2

I know that he's not going to see it that way. He's going to see almost two weeks off. He's not going to lump those two half day Fridays into one. Oh well!

Hi Lisa! Your family sounds fun!

We're doing our first visit to SeaWorld at the end of June. I'm really interested in your take on it. It seems so strange to be visiting an unfamiliar park, doesn't it?

Happy planning!

Kathy

Hey Kathy! We are a pretty funny/silly family! What can I say? It comes pretty naturally. :rotfl:

I move a bit slow on my trip reports but I'll make sure to let you know all about Sea World. I'm betting that we'll like it a lot.

It does seem odd to even be contemplating going offsite but we figured why not?

Nice new purchase for the car. That certainly will make your packing easier. :thumbsup2

Too funny that you boss is in denial about your vacation. :rotfl:

Three weeks! :cool1: Woo hoooooo !

7 full work days is NOT unreasonable! Hehehe, let him throw the tantrums and pitch the fits and then smile inside knowing it's all for Disney! :D Glad you marked down your dates. Speaking of which, I should do the same since I'm here at work early this AM...

I miss camping. We used to go all the time when I was younger, but the last time I was camping with my family was maybe 6 years ago, and it was sort of half camping. Yes, we had a tent, but we stayed at the state park in Raleigh, and in the middle of the weekend went home to check on the dog and then to Walmart to pick up supplies. So...not really what most people consider camping. Now I'm afraid I've gotten soft and won't like it.

Now I did sign on as counselor for a weekend canoe camp, and camped then. I scared the poor male counselors because the night we grilled steaks I ate 4...and was still hungry! But canoeing takes a lot out of you, especially when you're paddling all day! It was also the first time i'd ever had seafood boil. My friend had to break my crab for me, because I couldn't stop feeling sorry for it and felt awful cracking it open. But once it was open I demolished it.

We don't get to go camping as often as I would like. Your "half camping" story had me laughing. I'd say that ya'll were "camping light".;)

Canoeing takes a lot out of you so I sure that's why you could eat so much! I do that when we go swimming. It seems like we always come out of the pool starving.

I'm thinking that we are going to love having the extra space that the luggage carrier will give us.

I don't know why my boss is in such denial this year. Usually, he's asking me every other day when we are going to leave.

I am going to go ahead and prepare him now that we are taking two full week off next Summer. It'll be our 30th anniversary and I'm doing it up big!

The "When will the **** hit the fan?" Saga Continues

Well, the calendar has been flipped to May and the dates are there as clear as day. So far, no woe-is-me, no LIIIIIIISA!, no stomping, just nice calm conversation and no mention of it. Hum? Wonder what's up? :confused3 I know that he's seen it. I'm thinking that he will go to his Mama's at lunch (like he always does) whine to her a while and she'll tell him to remain calm and all will be right with the world. :rotfl:

I know that it sounds totally silly that we are playing this "you talk about it first" game but I'm not giving in. :sad2: He knows that we are going. We go every year. ::yes:: He told me to find somebody to fill in for me. I have. :thumbsup2 He acknowledged that I deserve the extra days. In front of clients. ;) He also knows that it will do no good to ask me to change the dates. Not gonna happen! :rolleyes1

So, maybe the *** isn't going to hit the fan? Who knows? :confused3

Stay tuned! popcorn::

All this talking of camping has definitely brought back some great memories of camping with my family when I was young. I have to say I haven't camped as an adult but many many times as a child. Thanks for bringing me back to some times I haven't thought about in a long time.

We've tried talking Mama into going with us because she loved it when I was a kid. But, she said that there's no way she could sleep on the hard ground. I told her that we'd take her a cot but it was still a no-go.

Lisa I fell behind on the dis and just found your PTR! Sorry I'm late, but looking forward to getting caught up!

It's done! What's done? The boss left for the afternoon and I wrote my dates on the calendar. I'm tired of pussyfooting around the subject. When I put pen to paper and really studied it, I'm really only going to be out of the office for 7 full work days. We close at Noon on Fridays and we are closed for Memorial Day so just 7 full days. At least that's what I'm going to tell him when he actually sees the dates in writing. I can only imagine what tomorrow will bring. Let the pouting, fit pitching, foot stomping and grumbling begin! :lmao:

Oh yeah, he could do whatever he wants but I'm going no matter what!

We love camping and right now, I'd love to be sitting on top of a mountain in Arkansas with absolutely no cellphone reception. :rotfl:

The "talk" is done! It was almost as bad as telling your kids about the birds and the bees. :rotfl2: I pointed out the dates on the calendar and told him that I would be here on Monday but then would be gone for the rest of that week and the next. He just sat shaking his head and averted his eyes. He finally asked "do you have somebody coming to fill in for you?". I told him that I did and he said "it's not ***** is it? (I'm not naming names.) When I told him that it wasn't, he let out a big sigh and said "good". And, that was the end of it. Well, actually, not the end because I told him that next year would be our 30th wedding anniversary and we were doing it up big. Then, he called me old. And I called him a farthead and walked out of his office. :lmao:

Well good at least you got that out of the way :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Now it's time for all the fun planning !

That's exactly what I was thinking. Thank goodness I was finally able to make him stop, look and listen to what I was telling him. The nerve of him calling me old. :rotfl2:

Of course, after we bought it, the darn thing went down $20.00 smackeroos. :headache: Oh well, I'm just glad that we finally found one.

I am pretty sure that if the price went down within a month Sears will refund the difference. It wouldn't hurt to check and see. Just threaten to return it and buy it at the lower price and they will fold! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2: the stories with your boss have me loling!! I'm glad it's all working out!

We absolutely love camping too! We go every year and luckily we seem to have a little one who enjoys it as well :thumbsup2

Love all your plans, I still cant believe we have the same exact dates lol! Are you guys really excited? Everyday we count down and I ask my DD Ava if she is ready to meet Mickey for her birthday? And she says "Yes. Mickey mooousee and cake!" :rotfl: We can't wait!

Universal would have been more fun I think but I totally see your reasoning. We might do Sea World 1 day but am thinking of going to Busch Gardens.

Glad the talk went well. Nice bracing him for next year already.
