Sister Wives

I want to script this show to make it more interesting. Their real life is boring.

Let's have Meri win the Powerball but WHOOPS you divorced her Kody so you can't have Meri's money.

Janelle needs to retire and take up gardening. Maybe she can start a business canning vegetables. Kody is now wondering why his meal ticket has decided to reture.

Christine will decide she needs to work out of the house to make money but she has ZERO skills so she resorts to a seedy life to make ends meet.

Robyn discovers Kody is dating a younger woman who is eager to have kids. Robyn throws a massive hissy fit and has now taken to her bed with a case of the vapors over the indignity of her husband wanting another woman.

The new woman is actually a hitman hired by Meri with her millions................

Show is now over. I just saved us all!

Give it time. We all expect it to play out pretty similar to this even without your help. :rotfl2:

Missed the original air-time; it's re-running at midnight here so I'll DVR it and watch tomorrow morning. I'm glad it's back.

Funny that Janelle said it felt like being a single mother for the first time when she use to live in a different state than the rest of the family!

She must not have many kids left at home - maybe just the youngest daughter?

I haven't watched all the episodes or maybe even seasons...when did Janelle live in a different state than the rest of them? I think I knew Meri had maybe moved back to Utah?? for a bit to run that b&b, but I didn't realize Janelle had lived somewhere else at some point.

The only one with little kids still at home really is Robyn...I think the next youngest from the other wives would be Truly who I imagine is pushing double digits by now.

I just kept watching all that angst thinking "just wait until you deal with all of this in a pandemic..... "

I still say what they refuse to admit is that so much of their issues are caused by ......... polygamy. The business like relationship with Kody, the jealousy, the frustration with not being together. I also think part of the issue is that some are dealing with older families and nests emptying out while others are in the thick of raising small kids.

Honestly though, one of the biggest issues is just the sheer number of people. The more there are, the more time is taken up in the "business" of the family. And the less time you have to spend with each one. They do love babies, but to fully appreciate those children (and grandchildren) they needed less, not more.

it was in their book which I read years ago.
it was when the kids were young and her and Meri were fighting.
Long before the show started.
She moved to another state, had a job, lived in a trailer and Kody visited.
I think Meri was in Utah and Janelle in Montana or Wyoming.

Oh huh, I had no idea...so odd. Thanks for the info. I mean yeah I guess at least they all still live in the same state.

I think Kody made things way, way worse by moving them with barely a plan. I can’t imagine how much four rents, plus car loans, plus living expenses cost them every month. I’d hate to be their accountant.

Christine looks very unhappy, and I feel so badly for her. Yes, she knew what she was in for, but things seemed a little calmer before Robyn arrived. Not saying that she’s the cause, but that seems to be the starting of all the chaos.

I wonder if there’s some unsaid feelings that it’s feeling weird to only see your husband once a week and, let’s be honest, he probably expects..relations...any time he sees a wife.

Ha! I was actually thinking something the opposite. At their ages, like it or not, everybody is "slowing down". I'd imagine he may have trouble keeping up with all of them, each of whom probably looks forward to and expects the very intermittent "attention" they get.

The upcoming scenes show Kody saying something like "I'm sick of these woman complaining, they need to deal with it and leave me out of it". Wow Kody, so you built this life, but you want no part of it when it implodes. No surprise really. :sad2:

I don’t necessarily think the issues come from being a polygamist family rather it’s that they’re a polygamist family lead by Kody. He’s brought their lives crashing down time after time and takes zero responsibility for it. They’re all angry at him which makes them angry at each other. It’s really sad to see how far gone the family is. Maybe they always were and are now just past putting on a good show.

What is up with the painted on eyebrows on the couch?

:confused3IDK...I really don't see how the set-up can work at all amongst (relatively) modern people living out in regular society. Maybe their parents were the last generation that were content but they all lived in close-knit FLDS communities where it was the norm. Even today there are closed communities/communes where polygamy is practiced as a religious and cultural expectation, but who knows if anybody is actually happy, or even expects to be. And all that is very different than what the Brown family is trying to do.

I agree with this. I was thinking as I watched last night that this is a cult that is about to unravel right here on this show.

I really expected them to say yea "It worked for our parents/grandparents, but maybe it's time to rethink this way of life." Each of the wives has shown that it's not working for them.
