other adults, if not the parents of the minor children (or any half siblings) living in the home would'nt have to get included for cash purposes, so their income/resources would'nt count.

if you've got an adult child in the home, they can be excluded too.

for foodstamps though-it depends. you can't separate out people who are related-so if mom's mom, or mom's adult child live in the home they have to be included (with one rare exception for certain sr citizens). if it's just say a mom, her kids sharing a place with a friend and her kids (so no mutual baby daddy in the house) then they can just claim they purchase and prepare separatly (and get their own food stamp cases which is more than a larger group gets if aided in one case).

all this is very confusing.

I have to say, that out of all the "strange" things about this family, this was the strangest. Like Logan pointed out, she has a much better chance of burning the house down by burning toast in the oven. I have irrational fears about things like that too, but I just unplug the toaster oven when I'm done.

I'll admit, I will watch the next episode, I want to see where this goes with Robin. Anyone notice how drop dead gorgeous Korey was when he was younger? Wow!

Am I the only person who thought that Kody beared a striking resemblence to the Burger King? I swear he was like the creepy commercial where the big Burger Kind head pops up everywhere.

He reminded me of an odd cross between the King and David Koresh. Yeesh.

As for the plural marriage thing, if it works for them, then bully for them. But there is no way in hell that would ever work for me. I'm definitely not a sharer (much to my ex-BF's chagrin. Lol. That's why he came home to his stuff artfully strewn about the front yard one night.)

Kody was attractive in his younger years. Time, 3 wives and 12 kids have not helped keep those youthful looks.

Uber creepy now, like someone holding desperately on to his youth, ewww that hair . When you are losing it in the front, growing the rest out doesn't distract us from noticing the front. Someone should let him know that .
Also his cute little sports car makes him seem like the middle age guy trying to pick up hot little chickies .

I really don't care what these people do, kids seems happy and well provided for .

My main issue is creepy Kody , he is just icky . Might really be a good guy, who knows , but cut your hair, drive a big boy car and quit trolling for ladies, be happy with the three ya got.

Okay so I watched the show. I sat there the first 15 minutes with my mouth hanging open. It so couldn't be me. Let's just say I'm not cohesive and can't share. It does seem to work for them so who am I to judge. IIRC most of the wives were raised in that culture so I guess if I was raised in that I would be okay with it too. But they didn't seem too happy with him bringing in a 4th wife. I just wonder where she's gonna sleep. LOL

Kody said she grew up "in the lifestyle." Don't leaders of FLDS groups move wives around from one husband to a different one, when they disobey the leader? I read that somewhere.

Her former husband could have had her taken from him (if they are FLDS), or she left him, or they divorced from a conventional/monogamous marriage, or he's dead.

I just can't imagine a husband thinking his ex-wife and kids are in a polygamist household as something really peachy, unless he is FLDS--or dead.

Ok. Where is he? What's the situation? I hope they explain that.
