Got my renewal letter. They want $103 for six months. Don't want to pay that. Anyone have a recent experience with a lower rates?

Yes, call and say you want to cancel. The rep will transfer you to rep whose job is to keep you from canceling. They will make a bunch of offers but after 15 minutes in phone I got 12 months for $112

We have an unemployment "thang" going on in our house. Also, FWIW, DH absolutely LOVES Sirius radio. I could take it or leave it.

I did the talking. I do not have a vested interest in keeping it.

So, I called to cancel, they gave us 2 free months. Totally free. If this offer is given to you, make careful notes about when the 2 free months end.

I called towards the end of the 2 months. Explained that we needed to cancel and why. They offered $28- and some change to continue for 5 more months. That became DH's Christmas present.

We also made a huge note on our calendar for when the 5 months is up, as if the job situation does not change, DH will need to drop this. If our job situation changes, we will re-up with them, at an annual rate, that has yet to be determined.

I called to cancel, really cancel as opposed to negotiate a lower deal, but it was hard to turn this offer down.

Mine auto renewed in December for $45 or so for 3 months. I called right away. After saying no thanks to about three offers I agreed to another 5 months for about $35 with tax. $6-7/month is my limit. I've renewed three or four times and never had a problem getting it in this range.

I received my renewal yesterday for $168.xx for 12 months. I called to cancel and really was going to cancel. I took the 5 months for $25.

A couple of months ago we had an offer of 6 months for $25 (plus tax), but we no longer have the car so didn't need it.

5 months for $25 is the price that can most consistently be had by calling to cancel. I've been doing that for 3 years now.

Yep just call them and cancel. They will keep giving you offers, reject them until you get to this level. I have done it so many times, it's kinda just silly that they don't offer this price to begin with. They could probably cut the number of phone reps in half because they wouldn't need to field so many calls.

I just re-upped for 5 months for $30 for XM. Told them I can't afford their regular rate... can they do better!

Wait them out and I promise you they will send you an offer to a much better deal than they initially offer you. It's their way. I turned down $15.00 a month until I got 6 months for $30. We'll see what happens this time. This was after two or three other offers that I didn't like.

DH renewed yesterday for $29 after tax for 6 months. :)

This was the offer we took as well. They tried to talk me into "3 free months, 1 year at the price of 9 months" as a better deal. Maybe because I'm an accountant.... but 9 months at $24 per month vs 6 months for $5 per month. The math is simple.

I called and told the rep I wanted to cancel. Got put on hold for a few minutes and she came back with a 50% off offer. I took that. I think it was $77 for 12 months.

If you decline that offer, they'll come back with the 5 or 6 months for $20-$25 offer.

Pandora- $39 for the year if you don't want ads.

Ugh Sirius, no idea they had my account on auto-renew for a car I no longer had, in the meantime I had moved and changed my CC# due to to fraud. They had tried to bill my non-vaild card and sent me to collections for $55 on my perfect credit score. Never got any letters from them, though the Collections company had my current address. I had to pay $55+ for a service I didn't use for a car I didn't have to get it off my credit. They wouldn't refund it after dealing with the collections company.

Make sure you do not have auto-renew on.

$21.68 for 6 months - All Taxes & Fees
We had some kind of "credit" with them for $10.98 - I'm confused...but-
Bottom Line $21.68 for 6 Months.
Any way - Great thread!
Thanks To the OP for starting it!

PS - We told them NO AUTO RENEW...

Just finished renewing for the $25 for six months. It was a breeze, and took less than five minutes. I don't call the regular number. I just use the customer advocacy number. I purchased a siriusxm gift card from Best Buy. It makes the billing process so much better. No CC on file.
