My DF and I have not posted our engagement trip report yet, so I decided to post that along with our prewedding trip report from last weekend.

We live only six hours from Orlando, and both of us love WDW so when DB suggested the two of us go down for a long weekend I was incredibly excited. Right before we planned to leave, DB's mom asked us to give something to his brother at school; he lives two hours away in Athens, Georgia. I was agitated at first that we were to go out of our way, but his mom is incredibly sweet so I did not mind doing her a favor. When we got on the University of Georgia's campus to meet DB's brother, we walked through North Campus which is the oldest part of the school. Since we both graduated from the University of Georgia, and it was really special to us we had at one point talked about getting married there. Even though we were not engaged at the time I had looked into the logistics of doing it there and it would never have worked for us. When we walked in front of the chapel on campus, DB asked me to walk up with him to see if the door was unlocked. I told him it would not be and refused to walk up there. He finally got me up there after a lot of begging. I went up to the door, tried to open it and then started to walk away because it was locked. At that point DB grabbed my arm and pulled me back to him. Then he dropped to his knees and told me how everything in his life was better now that I was in it. He was incredibly sweet and I was so in shock that he was proposing to me. I said yes and gave him the biggest hug. There was no plan to meet his brother, he just wanted to bring me to Athens and propose in a place important to both of us. I was on cloud nine when we drove down to Orlando.

When we first got there we went to Epcot and ate at the San Angel Inn. The food there is fantastic and the atmosphere is incredible! While we were there we went drinking around the world and ended up taking some pretty goofy pictures! Here are some of them; we kind of liked the hats!

We stayed that night to watch Illuminations, which was not around when I was there last. I absolutely loved the music and really had a great time snugging with my DF under the fireworks.

The next day we went to the Magic Kingdom, but we forgot the camera bag! We took some photos on PhotoPass but I do not have any of them to share. It was really awesome to be back at the Magic Kingdom with my DF because he is a huge fan of Disney history and it was really awesome to experience it with a lot of the background knowledge. I even read the latest Disney biography before we went to catch up on some history. Since it was going to be a late day for us, I decided to surprise my DF with a morning Keys to the Kingdom tour. He had always wanted to go on one, but had never been able to. He was so excited that I surprised him and we both had a really great time. It was awesome being able to go behind the scenes and see everything from a different perspective. We also were able to ride the Jungle Cruise and the Haunted Mansion with our special tour guide giving us background information to the rides. That night we also stayed for Wishes, which was pretty interesting after learning that quite a lot of Tinkerbells have actually been TinkerBILLS!

The next day we went to MGM. We went to the Sci-Fi Diner for lunch and the Fifties Cafe for dinner. I loved the Rockin Rollercoaster which had not been there before when I went. We loved the Tower of Terror and the Great Movie Ride, and it was fun to watch the Beauty and the Beast show. I think the coolest part of the park was where you could learn to draw the Disney cartoons. We left the park early to go to downtown Disney and goof around in the shops before we headed over to Pleasure Island

We had a GREAT time at Downtown Disney. We started in the Adventurers Club and really enjoyed the shows in there as well as the signature drink; Kungaloosh! After spending a good bit of time there we decided to walk over to 8 Tracks. That night it was 80s music night and we totally got our groove on on the dance floor. After drinking draft beer and dancing to Culture Club we decided to head over Mannequins. It was incredible in there with the spinning dance floor and the techno music. We actually enjoyed dancing in there, but eventually the heat and spinning forced us to head back outside. By this time it was incredibly late, so we decided to call it a night and take the boat back to our room at Port Orleans Riverside.

The next morning we went to Animal Kingdom, but did not stay too long. It was pretty hot and besides the roller coaster we were ok with leaving earlier than the other parks.

After our engagement trip to WDW we absolutely loved the idea of getting married there too. We have been making plans for our Disney wedding from another state, but we finally were able to make a site visit to arrange the layout of the ceremony, taste-test the food, and do a trial run of hair and make-up.

So now we have some of the minor details to iron out before our Disney wedding and familymoon next month! We are incredibly excited about the trip and starting our life together.

I'm first, I'm first, neener, neener, neener! Great plan, you have chosen the perfect place to start your married life together! Can't wait for more.

Hee hee.

HAHAHAHAHA! I love the neener, neener, neener comment! We absolutely have a ton of photos, do not encourage me to get the tote out and show all the goodies. lol

Great start! That was a really sweet story about how he proposed. I can't wait to hear all about the wedding:goodvibes

Where did you guys get those shirts in the first few pictures? They are so cool!

Congratulations! I was just coming to ask about the shirts as well! They are great. You should come over to the weddings and honeymoons board. Lots of helpful info over there!

Funny thing about those shirts... when we went to Epcot a lot of CMs asked where we got the shirts too! Apparently the internet site we bought them from was violating copyright laws because when we went back to order more, it was shut down! Epcot was always my favorite park as a kid because I loved Figment, so I was pretty dissapointed there are not any sites that have these shirts. We have looked religiously!

Oh how incredibly romantic!!:bride:
I hope its everything you dreaming
of and then some!!:cloud9:

Ron sounds so romantic!! Can't wait to read more and see your practice hair and make-up pictures!

Bethy I love your report. How romantic that Ron took you back to The University of Georgia to propose.

The pictures are great. Go ahead and post more. :teeth:

Bethy: What a sweet romantic story. Can't wait to see more pics.

I cannot believe I forgot to put up pictures of the make-up and hair trial!

She spent a lot of time on my make-up and I was really pleased with it. Here is a picture of me out by the pool before she did my hair. I am a little squinty-eyed from the sun, will have to be careful about that next month!

I really hated my hair. I wanted cute ringlets and she was not able to get them in my hair. She did some funky twisty thing around the tiara that I was not thrilled with either, but I am going to experiement more with my hair before the wedding so I can tell her exactly how to do what I want my hair to look like. You can at least see the makeup in these pictures though!

I love your make up, not so sure about the funky twisty things though. Did she give you any explanation as to why she couldn't get your hair the way you wanted it? It will be perfect on the day though I'm sure!

She said I have "soft" hair so it would not curl well. But I noticed she was not holding it in the curling iron very long, only for a few seconds. I thought she knew what she was doing and maybe I just curl my hair too long, but I talked to other people and they said they curl their hair longer than she did too.

Interesting, in your signature pic it looks like you have some wave to your hair so it would seem logical to me it should curl okay. Maybe ask your regular stylist, there has to be a way to make it the way you would like it. It could be worse though you could be hairless like these guys!

Your makeup looks great but I think I have to agree about the hair. I like it in that first picture before you had it done. It looks softer. No matter what you are going to be a beautiful bride. :cloud9:

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO Dawgs! I love UGA. My husband and I both went to school there and hope our son (almost 15) will, too. How sweet of him to propose to you there. I'm in the process of planning a Vow Renewal (12/08 will be 20 years) and I love to read what Disney brides are doing to get some ideas.

My hair is *soft* as well. Have you tried hot rollers and leave them in for a bit? When my hair was long, that's what I had to do. That and a LOT of hairspray. I would love to have long hair like yours again, but it holds better short.

Awesome to find another UGA fan on here! You only have three years before you could have a great excuse to visit Athens...not that you would need one! Congratualtions on 20 years, a vow renewal is such a great idea! I may have to try the hot rollers, the hair stylist suggested that, I might even put them in before she gets there to make sure it stays! Do you know what kind of hairspray would hold the best?

Just over a week to go.:thumbsup2
Best Wishes

Judi
