Dear All,

I am looking forward to going to Disneyworld next month with my two kids aged 16 and the ecitement of entering the park never diminishes. We always have a big list of where to go and what to do..where to eat etc.. for all my independence I do miss a male companion.

Do other single parents feel the same sometimes?

I took my two boys last December and will be returning in October with three of my children. Maybe the novelty hasn't worn off for me yet, but I enjoy being able to decide what we do with the minimum of negotiation. I also felt pretty pleased with myself sorting out a hire car and driving around Orlando. There are obvious downsides but some positives too. Its good to be independent sometimes.

I took my then 7 year old son in 2001 and loved every minute of doing what we wanted :D Only downside I felt was that I didnt feel confident enough to drive so this October when we go my Dad is coming so he can do the driving :Pinkbounc

Nope, I've brought my son up entirely on my own and love the time we spend together. We do spend some holidays with friends or other members of the family and it is nice to have other company but the time I spend just with him is always the best. I think I'm so used to my own independence that I would find it very hard to let somebody else make the decisions or plan the itinerary. Call me a control freak but that's the way I am LOL
