Single Cruisers Looking For Cabinmates?

I am absolutely torturing myself! I had to cancel our 7 night January 8th cruise due to my DDs newfound committment to not missing school time for our annual cruise (okay, okay they're both in college now and so much more grown up than me their mother). Still, I find myself quietly going to my Favorite Places on the computer, guiltily hitting the DisBoard entry and painfully lurking - first eavesdropping in on the January 8,2005 cruisers and then slowly moving down the boards. When will this all end? I cannot justify the summer rates and very much wanted to do one of the 14 day excursions (that darn school schedule foiled that plan, too).
Then I began to wonder - there must be other people out there like myself - Disney obsessed, single mom to (think they're) grown daughters. Is there a thread/site (support group) for other single semi-adults (who cannot convince their non-Disney obsessed friends) who want to sail the Magic again,(not alone) but would like to share the experience with other like minded indivduals? So, if anyone is up for a 7 night towards winter's end or one of the 14 days - point me in the direction to find you!!!

Just wanted to wish you good luck. I hope you do find someone cause I certainly can sense your pain!

Here is some pixie dust!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

You'll have no problem finding someone, especially since you are a Florida resident!

Dawn-
Please keep us posted. I'd like to see how this pans out! This is a very interesting invitation you've extended, and I'd love to hear whether you're able to find someone or not. If I were in a similar situation, I would definitely go with you. Sounds like a great adventure, and a good way to maybe make a great new friend!!!
Let us know.

Dawn, before I booked the 14-day cruise I emailed all my friends and family, asking them (NO, BEGGING them) to join us. The worst thing about being a single parent on this cruise is paying the adult full-fare for your 7 year old kid!!!! I wanted another adult in the room!

Where were you on May 5th??? LOL!!!

Good luck!

If you can add on an adult let me know! I had a reservation pending for the 14 night, cancelled and am now kicking myself for not holding onto it. The rates, of course have skyrocketed since that time. And with enough time I might have been able to find two others on the Boards willing to take my DDs spots in the cabin.
So, if anyone has room for a very youthful early 40 something in their cabin for a much younger, hipper Golden Girls voyage let me know!

Dawn

Hello,
An update on my plea : I recieved a few PMs from other women (single moms and others) interested in sharing a cabin in the near future. I chose the one that I have the most in common with and we are planning to cruise next fall (a long time away,I know, but at least I will soon have a countdown calendar). I highly recommend asking for what you are looking for - especially in a safe environment such as the DisBoards. And if any other groups of singles want to pair up and join us let me know!

Thanks for the pixie dust,
Dawn Hope

Wow! What a pleasant thread to wake up to this morning! I think these boards are just the best! I am so glad you find someone to cruise with, Dawn - that's so great! CONGRATS! And kudos to this board as well for providing a safe, Disneyesque environment for you - Walt would be proud :)

You might get lucky and get a family with three kids to split a room with you and then they can keep the child in there own room i think that would save them some money
