Simulator Rides to avoid?

I get intense motion sickness on most simulator rides. Also anything that spins constantly like the Teacups. I have no issues with rides that actually move like roller coasters. I can also do Soarin once per trip. I am going to brave FJ (I think) and bc of that, I want to avoid any other motion sickness inducing simulator rides.

Can anyone give me a list of which rides to avoid?

Spiderman, Transformers, Simpsons ..Spiderman,Transformers are 3d rides/motion simulators.Simpsons is motion simulator

Despicable me is questionable. It is 3d movie in motion seats, but there is stationary seating available

The Spider-Man and Transformers ride never gave me any problems at all and I get motion sick pretty easily. However Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and the Simpsons rides did make me sick. I rode them both once just for the experience and never went back on. The Despicable Me ride wasn't open yet when I was last there, so I have no idea how it is

Avoid Simpsons. As much as I love it, I am guessing it would send you over the edge. I too have to do the rides in small doses, so I understand where you re coming from.

I don't normally have motion sickness but many of the rides at Universal made me feel very sick afterwards especially FJ and Transformers - I only managed one ride per day on FJ (if I closed my eyes during some scenes) and only braved transformers once because I was almost physically sick on that and didn't want to chance it again. I think despicable me was the only simulator that I didn't feel sick on and rode that 3 or 4 times but that ride also has stationary seats at the very front if you didn't want the moving seats.

Next year when I go I'm going to try motion sickness tablets/remedies as I enjoyed the rides just didn't enjoy the sick feeling.

I can ride Simpsons in the front seat without any issues. The back seat makes me queasy.

Men in Black spins a lot-enough to make me sick. Despicable Me has stationary seats in the front, so that helps.

Have you considered taking Bonine before Forbidden Journey? I took Less Drowsy Dramamine last year, and that helped but still made me really sleepy. I'm trying Bonine when we go next week.

Good luck! Have a great trip! pixiedust:

I have motion sickness. Never had a problem with Spiderman but wouldn't do it over and over in a row.

I can't ride Simpsons at all. If I'm on the verge I also avoid cat in the hat. I remember when they had a no spinning feature - no more. Also as much as I love MIB the spinning at the end (depending on how good the other team is) can make me sick if I ride it over and over.

FJ doesn't make me sick but again I don't ride it more than 2x in a row.

Cat in the Hat has stopped spinning. Apparently the cars don't move at all anymore. It is just straight on through. I think they need to find a happy medium.

haha just saw you post that on another thread! Great news for me. Such a cute ride but all that spinning - :crazy2: Ohh no moving at all - yeah they need to at least turn.

I think it is running on default mode or something. I would imagine they'll come up with new programming for it.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I will be taking Bonine, but I really donn't want to take any chances. Knowing which ones to avoid helps so much!

We were just at the parks last week and the Cat in the Hat definitely spins. Front to side a lot, and in circles a few times.

Interesting the comments about the Simpsons ride. I was able to do all of the ride EXCEPT that one without feeling ill. We were there 3 years ago and after that ride it ruined the rest of my day on rides, I just politely passed and enjoyed everything else. This time, I did everything and just sat outside the Simpson's ride and waited for the family. Not chancing that one again. Ever.

The other rides that were iffy though, were Transformers for sure and Forbidden Journey. I went on them more than once, but then just closed my eyes for a bit every once in a while. I think the difference with those rides is that there is "real" stuff mixed in with 3D stuff so it gives some stability. Despicable Me was actually similar to Simpsons, but I think because we were in a bigger non-enclosed space with the rest of the audience it was bearable and not so claustrapobic feeling as in the Simpsons ride.
