Sims2 Players: Baby Problems?

I haven't tried Sims 2 but I always had my baby taken away by CPS in Sims 1.

I didn't know there was an expansion pack coming out, tomorrow is it?
I don't know if I dare buy it and install it. My computer barely runs Sims2 as it is, DH will kill me if I "bog it down" any further. But I always loved the expansion packs for the first one, since they always had new furniture, flooring, accessory, etc. choices. I'm sure I will at least "look at it" tomorrow when I go out to buy Bambi on DVD!!

Nope sorry it's just a cd only I know it stinks because I have the dvd but I believe the reasoning for it is that their's not as much info that needed to be placed on the expansion as there was on the main game. Thankfully it's only a one disk expansion I have to get my computer all ready for this. Time to clean it up and run the defragmenter

As for the baby issue, I had this problem when I first got the game, all I was having was boys, then I had two girls and now it's back to all boys again I'm going to play again today, my character is currently pregnant, can't wait to see what she has and if it looks like a combo of myself and my DH!

I am picking up University at lunch today. It's only on cd, which is a bummer.

I've had mostly boy babies, but I've had 3 girls. no twins yet. There's a cheat to get you to choose when you want to be abducted.

I've had twins, both girls! And I didn't use any cheat codes or anything, it just happened.... I was pretty surprised. Don't know what to tell you about getting boys all the time. Hope you can find out how to remedy that.

I would check out EB Games, Gamestop or Best Buy before going to Wal-mart, they can be tricky about their release dates, they usually go by the release date officially set which is March 1st. Good luck finding it I have to wait, it's my b-day present on March 9th!

To the poster who asked about WOO HOO, if you get enough reward points you can "purchase" I think for 20,000 points a WOO HOO hot tub. That helps.

Don't know if this is real or not but I found this picture on the Sims 2 message boards of what's supposed to be the next Expansion Pack after University, called Nightlife which sounds like the original Hot Date but comes with Vampires Forgive me if this is fake, but if it's not it would be pretty neat

I am a relatively new Sims2 player, and have lots of questions, but how in the heck do you get them pregnant? Aside from the obvious! LOL I have only been able to get my Lothario charcter to WOOHoo once. Is there something else to do to get them pregnant?

You have to be in "control" of a female sim and then get her in bed (maybe hot tub, I'm not sure that option comes up if you're in the hot tub) with a male sim. Instead of choosing the woo-hoo option, you should get one that says try for a baby. That option doesn't come up if you're in control of a male.

I also think you have the cheat that turns off aging, your sims won't be able to get pregnant.

i've had 2 sets of twins in two different families out of 7 births in the game. one was a set of girls and one was a boy and a girl. twins are AWFUL to take care of. if both of the parents have jobs it takes a lot of work for the babies to grow up properly, it does help if you have a teenager in the house though they can do some of the work. a good place to look for any questions is on the sims resource. i usually find all of my answers there. it's also a lot of fun to look and see what other things happen to people. there are a lot of funny things that i never realized were in the game. i would like to see what the alien babies look like. too funny!

I finally got frustrated with trying to meet the right man. I've gone through a ton of them and they all seem to be either married or in the romance mode when they move in so they want to flirt or woohoo every other female sim in the game. So I've finally resorted to making my own neighborhood and my own sims so that I can find a potential mate.

stinkerbelle, I picked up the University expansion yesterday from EB games. I played for a couple of hours last night. So far it is pretty cool. I love the new instruments that can all play together in a "band". Also you can earn money playing an instrument for tips. They put out a little tip jar. The new interactions are great. I will not get a chance to really play until this weekend when I ca hand the kids to DH and go and hide in our home office with my laptop , caffine and junk food. LOL

Are there any new carpets/wallpapers/windows/stuff like that? Architectual (sp?) stuff?

and was it easy to install? Do you run off the expansion CD now - or the original Sims DVD/CD? (sorry for the questions...I might get this this weekend...or have DH get it for me if I kiss enough booty)

Lot's of new build mode stuff- floors, walls, fences, doors and windows. Very easy to install, you keep the university cd in your CD/DVD drive.
If you have a teen you that you are planning to send to college build up their skills before you go, it makes it easier to have fun at college.

Oh yeah, the money cheats work at college too. I am planning to build an awesome house and start a Sorority. LOL
