One week after the loss of my sweet Leann, I have been told/confirmed dx of early onset severe preeclampsia, and told if my bp doesn't drop and soon--I could have an emergency c-section as early as 27 or 28 weeks (I'm at 25 weeks now), and my dear BIL who was dx with pancreatic cancer about two months ago found out today he has brain/lung mets and has been put on home hospice care with 2-4 weeks estimated left to live...just unbelievable.

I am so sorry you are having to deal with all of this but I wanted to give you a little bit of hope. My twins were born at 28 weeks because of a cervical hemorrhage and they are really healthy and thriving at 3 years. I certainly hope you are able to keep those twins cooking longer but if they do come really early, everything should still be okay.

I am so sorry about this and your BIL. You are in my thoughts!

So sorry about your dear BIL and praying Hospice can keep him comfortable in his sad time of great need. First and foremost, pls take care of yourself and precious babies. Soon you'll have 2 bundles of joy in your arms to nurture and hopefully help ease some of the heartache and grief you're suffering.

Goodness, Karen, I'm so very sorry. You left someone out of your discussion though...you. This is a dangerous time for the mother as well. Please take care of yourself. I know it's easy for me to say, but you need to relax and get on bed rest pronto. I can't imagine what you are going through, but know we are all thinking of you.

I had the same but later in my pregnancy. My doctor was going to induce me early, but once in the hospital he found that if I was laying on my left side, my blood pressure would drop dramatically. So until it got closer to my due date I was on my left side all day! No sitting up except to eat and go to the bathroom.

As to all of the other issues you are having to deal with, I am so sorry. Praying that you and your family have some peace and good news in your lives soon.

Karen I am so so sorry for everything you have been going through. If there is any comfort in all of this, please know that babies born at 28+ weeks gestation, ESPECIALLY twin girls, have an excellent prognosis. I gave birth to twin girls at 34 weeks, and I was told that twins, especially female twins, mature faster in utero than males or singletons. You should expect some NICU time but hopefully no major problems for your sweet babies. Many prayers for your family during this difficult time.
