I wish I would've stumbled upon these boards sooner!
We leave for Disney World next week and I am looking to create some simple planning cards.. Could someone point me in the direction of some pre-made ones or design a few for me?

What I am looking for is something small enough to fit on an index card, for each of the 4 parks and downtown disney. We unfortunately aren't doing any special character meals this trip, and I am not really a huge planner as far as mapping out our exact day. So basically I am looking for 5 cards, decorated cutely with Disney images and Disney font, I would like it to basically say the park name at the top, and then list Mon-Fri so I could write or type in all the park hours and then have a spot for including parades and fireworks.

Hopefully someone understands what I am looking for and can either create it real quick or can point me in the direction if it already exists.

Also, does anyone know where to find character times? I know they vary each day/week and you get an insert in the park maps, but I would like to try and plan a little ahead of time and make sure we map it out so we get the main characters we want (its so hard to get them all with 2 little ones!)

Thanks to anyone that can help!

your first post...how exciting! let me be the first to welcome you. If nobody else has assisted you by the time I get home from work, I will create these for you. Always happy to assist!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome, RustManFan! I wish I had found these boards a lot sooner! Unfortunately my twins aren't old enough to enjoy all the extra magic yet so I can't make all the little goodies, but I thought planning cards would be cute to have a little personalized so I can organize and map out our days! I would still love to use this board for personalized designs for holidays, is that allowed or is it mainly for vacations?

Anyway, thanks for taking on my request. I am actually thinking it may be easiest to have specific days on the cards, and then have each parks hours (and extra magic hours) for that day. Can you think of how this would work? Either way, I can type in the information myself if easier, just looking for a cute Disney-fied template :)

Let me know if you need any more information, and I appreciate you taking on my request!

Sorry.. not sure the propper way to edit this, I started thinking about it and planning it all out on index cards, so I thought maybe I would be a bit more specific. Of course mine don't look all pretty with the Disney characters and the Disney font :)

Here is more or less what I am thinking:

Spot for the day/date on the top of each card

Columns for each of the 4 parks (and DTD if it fits)

Under each park, the hours of the parks (including extra magic hours) and a category for the parades and fireworks where I can put in the times. I guess that would be the easiest way to do it, I have index cards I would like to put them on, and be able to pull out and look at each day.

Also, can anyone tell me where I can find character times? I know I get them in the park each day, but I would like to plan ahead as much as possible in advance so I can work around the twins' nap time!

Thanks so much!

I am seeing more and more that the font is getting smaller and smaller...you aren't going to all the parks and DTD on a single day, right? You may want to re-think how much is going to fit and will you be able to read it.

Maybe others have planning cards that they can modify or at least share since I don't seem to get its functionality.

Also, you are anticipating filling in the hours, right?

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain it right.. I actually just wrote it out myself and it all fit on one card. I can write all the info in myself, I am just looking for a basic template.

It's looking something like this:

Day/Date: Sun Jan 22nd
AK Epcot HS MK
9-7 9-9 FW 9-7 9-9
11-9 WS 9-12 EMH
Parade FW Parade Parade
3:45 9pm 3pm 3:30
FW 8pm

DTD: 11:30-10

Please let me know if that makes sense.. Basically just trying to put some information on an index card so we know how late each park is open. Hopefully this makes more sense, RustManFan?

If anyone could help, I would really like to print something out by tonight. Thanks so much!

*edit- sorry its not as separated as I wanted it to be, maybe in columns?

Looks alot better with lines. Measures 3 1/4 wide x 2 tall .

Hope this helps with your design

This is the chart I used. I created in Excel with lines (didn't copy) EMH are printed in red and listed rides that are closed.

Thats kind of what I did already.. its kind of hard to view if I just copy and paste it, I was actually looking for someone to create something with some Disney clip art or something and in the right format. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to size and was basically looking for a template that I could fill in myself. Thanks for the help though!

If anyone else has any idea what I'm talking about and could design a template, it would be appreciated! Feel free to PM me or reply here if you need a better understanding

Can someone just even point me in the right direction of where I could find a template for a 3.5 x 5 index card? I can add my own font and probably even clip art, I just have no idea how to make it the right size to print on my index cards.

Thank you! Unfortunately I am having trouble finding what I am looking for still and the 4shared files are expired and not opening for me :( Any other advice? I have it written out on index cards so I know what I want it to look like, I just want it a little neater and with some Disney effect to it. If I type it up I can't figure out how to make it the right size to fit on the card and have no idea how to make columns! I need a computer class haha

Bump to anyone that has the slightest clue what I am talking about or someone that can attempt to create something real quick. :)

Everything is else is so neat and organized and would love to have these cards be the same way. Everytime I write them on index cards I end up throwing them away. I've even attempted to draw Disney stuff on them and it still isn't cutting it! Check out my 2nd or 3rd post for more of a description of what I am looking for. TIA!

Just a suggestion- go to google type in epcot clipart or hollywood studios clipart, or disney clipart. When you get the images, right clip them and select copy. Then, past them to wordpad or whatever program you are using. You can then create your cards exactly the way you would like to have them. I'm not a designer but I do a lot of playing on my own.
Good luck!

Thanks for the idea, I thought about that but I am having problems coming up with the right format.. Any idea how to make the columns and the right size? I am using 3.5 x 5 index cards and have no idea what size font to use or how big it will end up turning out. I would have no problem creating my own if I knew the right format to use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Use size 10 or 12 font- make sure that you are viewing your document at 100 percent and simply eyeball it. As far as making columns- don't draw lines but simply use tab key to keep in columns. Once you have printed it out, cut to size and contact paper it.
