John if I'm not mistaken, I believe Paul wrote that song with Aretha in mind.
I too prefer the S&G version. I saw the a show in Chicago in late 2003, and they were terrific. They were good when they came out, then the Everly Bros. came out and were so strong and energetic. When Paul and Art came out the for 2nd half, it was like they were energized by the EB's.

I was supposed to go to the Central Park concert as well. I was working at the Manhattan VA at the time and we were going to go in a big group. Then the schedule came out and I had to work charge that night. I kept hearing how fabulous it was.


I think Art Garfunkel has one of the most angelic voices. I love listening to his version of Barbara Allen.

You missed a good concert! (sorry to rub it in! ) I think under the circumstances you should get yourself the very best ticket money can buy should they ever come your way again.
