I love listening to them and also Paul Simon solo. They weren't a group by the time I was old enough to purchase music but it just seems so timeless. Puts me in such a good mood.

They were my favorites when I was growing up. I still listen to them on a regular basis.

Love them! I grew up listening to my Mom playing Simon & Garfunkel. I listen to Paul Simon's CD Graceland almost on a daily basis while at work.

Although I don't care for Paul Simon solo, I loved Simon and Garfunkel. My favorite songs are April Come She Will, Old Friends, and America...good stuff.

I didn't know about them until I got married. My ex had quite a collection.
Their music is so easy to listen to.

My DD11 recently discovered Simon and Garfunkel. She LOVES them. We bought their greatest hits CD just so she could listen to them. I keep saying she was born in the wrong era! She loves the music of the '60s. She saw that Arlo Guthrie was going to be in concert near us and was begging me to take her! I have to admit I love Simon and Garfunkel too!

I saw them at the Fleet Center in Boston back in December of 2003. The Everly Brothers were also in the show. Don't get me wrong, S&G sing some of my favorite songs but the show was not as good as I thought it would be. They both looked very tired, as did the Everly Brothers. Paul almost seemed out of it. Some of the antics on stage were bizarre.

Did they sing well? Yes. Did they do most of their most popular songs? Yes. But something just wasn't right with that show. It extended over to the Everly Brothers as well. I've seen them several times included a concert where I was close enogh to touch the stage (now that was a GREAT concert!) and they were amazing in those shows.

I think the bottom line was that they just did too many cities on that tour. All of them are getting up there in age and that frantic pace over numerous weeks just seemed to be to much for them.

BTW, Art still has the most magnificent voice. ::yes::

They were playing our arena last year and for my parents and I to go it would have been $270 (before the insane taxes) for the CHEAP SEATS!!! We're talking top row of the arena! :scared1: As much as we love them, we opted for our $12 Greatest Hits CD instead.

i saw them when they were on tour too. but i thought the concert in washington was pretty good, considering.

Love Simon and Garfunkel! I was lucky enough to see them live in Central Park many years ago....truly one of the more magical concerts of my life.

My parents listened to S&G when I was growing up, so their music holds many memories for me.

I love their music, especially when they were a duo. I understand they are performing together in Las Vegas. I would love to attend that concert.

Nativetxn, I can't find any information online that they are doing a Vegas show. Do you know where I can find that info? Thanks! I love S&G and would love to go to Vegas to see them.

That's so funny--I was listening to the cd in the car this morning and Cecelia has been going through my head all day!

I love Paul Simon's Graceland cd so much that I've now worn out 2 copies of it. Guess I'll have to buy it again.

I was supposed to go to the concert in Central Park...

it was my first year of law school. three days into the semester I came down with mono. my symptoms cleared up quickly after the doctor put me on antibiotics. but he told me that the only way I could return to school was to promise that I'd do nothing to exhaust myself -- I could go to class, but that was about it.

so when everyone in my dorm headed into the city to see the concert, I stayed home.

I still feel the pain missing that concert.

One of my all-time favorites . . . it can bring me to tears:

Simon And Garfunkel - The Boxer Lyrics

I am just a poor boy
Though my story's seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocket full of mumbles such are promises
All lies and jests
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest

When I left my home and my family
I was no more than a boy
In the company of strangers
In the quiet of the railway station running scared
Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters
Where the ragged people go
Looking for the places only they would know

Lie la lie ...

Asking only workman's wages
I come looking for a job
But I get no offers,
Just a come-on from the *****s on Seventh Avenue
I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome
I took some comfort there

Lie la lie ...

Then I'm laying out my winter clothes
And wishing I was gone
Going home
Where the New York City winters aren't bleeding me
Bleeding me, going home

In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that layed him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
But the fighter still remains

Lie la lie ...

Isn't that funny, ruby, I remember this exact exchange was one of the very first I ever had with you, way back when....... :) I remember feeling so sorry for you when you told me what happened and why you weren't able to go. :(

You missed a good concert! (sorry to rub it in! :p ) I think under the circumstances you should get yourself the very best ticket money can buy should they ever come your way again.

Many great songs by the pair.

Does anybody remember the butcher job Aretha Franklin did to Bridge Over Troubled Waters when she sang it after it won song of the year?

Never would have been given the award if they sang it that way.
