Simba AP Magnets

Does anyone know if they are still available or if they were a yesterday only thing? The release just says "starting August 29" and I know there was a long line for them yesterday. I'm wondering if anyone was there today and got them. I was thinking about popping by before going to Epcot, but don't want to waste the trip if they don't have them. Thanks!

I'm not there, but the Disney Parks Blog announcement says they're available through September 5th.

I would post a link to said blog, but the site's not allowing it for some reason. This is the text: "Passholders visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom can also pick up a complimentary Simba magnet August 29 – September 5 at Discovery Trading Company. Passholders must present a valid annual pass and photo ID. One magnet per Passholder. Available while supplies last."

If you want one, get there as soon as they open. We got ours yesterday morning a few minutes after opening with only a few people in front of us. We left AK around lunch time and the line was ridiculous by then.

I got mine at about 7:15 yesterday morning. I WAS the line at that point, but I heard reports that lines were crazy later.

bummer. I thought that these would be available through SEP. I am making a quick trip 20-21st, and was planning to get this and the F&W magnet. Oh well, you can never have it all!!!

So you did have to show ID. I'd read that for F&W, too. That's new. Wonder why.

I had to scan my MB last F&W and F&G as well, if they don’t do that anyone can say they are AP holders. It is also used to note that you did already receive your magnet so you can’t go back and get multiples.

We also had to show ID at Epcot today. Friends of ours asked if we would grab magnets for them and we were not able to. In past events they would show pictures of family/friends' cards (the back) and CM's were able to just plug in the number and hand out the magnets. I'm assuming this is being done to stop that from happening.

Bummer was hoping to have a friend grab Remy for me. Did you happen to ask if you had a copy of their photo ID also if they would allow it? I feel like I remember people saying they had both picking up for friends at flower and garden but maybe just wishful thinking lol

When I asked about getting it for friends with a picture of their AP's I was told they had to be there in person to pick them up.

That's what I had figured but then I saw others reporting the same. We'll see. I may try again over the next few days.

I was able to pick one up at F&G for DS. However, I did have his physical AP card. No ID required for his or mine so it's new. Both DS's are at AK now (with my physical yellow card) but didn't attempt to get magnet yet as line was so long.

It must depend on the CM. My friend got her and her husband’s Minnie (I’ll get my stupid Minnie (not a fan) at the end of Sept) and she asked and said she was told she could get my Remy when those are out. I wish they had just done Remy for the whole festival.

Just picked up Simba and all the signage is listing ID as a requirement. Didn't bother trying this time because the line was long....though it did move very quickly.

Got to the Disney Trading Company in AK at 7:55AM yesterday (Friday) and was the first in line. 2 minutes later another person came and they crew came out with their magnets. I politely asked if it was possible to pick up my husband's magnet and the gentleman asked if I had his card - which I did - and I walked away with 2 Simba magnets at 8:02AM. Drove over to Epcot, waited for Rope Drop and by 9:05AM I had 2 Chef Minnie magnets.
