Simba AP Magnets

We picked ours up today (Saturday). The line was super long when we arrived in the AM, so we waited until we were on our way out. The line was shorter and moved quickly (can't remember what time it was, but it was mid-afternoon). Looked like they still had plenty then.

A friend picked one up for me today - I just gave him my card.

Got to Animal Kingdom around 3pm. There was a short line for magnets but a cast member was telling everyone they were out. We waited in the line anyways since we had been inside and saw that they had a bunch on the table. Some people left but a bunch stayed in line, too. We were able to get ours but about 25 minutes later I think they finally did run out. The cast members handing them out packed up and the line slowly went away. Not sure if they were out for just then, out for the day, or out for good. The cast member announcing they were out when we first got there said it was due to the storm and told everyone to go to Epcot for magnets and coasters. The people who were getting magnets told others to just wait in the line even though the cast member said they wouldn’t get one. I think most people who waited did get one. Not sure why they kept telling people they were out of stock when they still had some to hand out though.

We went this morning just for the magnet. I had no idea they were already out. That’s a bummer. They obviously needed to make a lot more if they said until September 5.

I read in a facebook group that if you go to AK now they will scan your AP and mail a magnet to you. Not there myself so can't confirm first hand.

We also had to show ID at Epcot today. Friends of ours asked if we would grab magnets for them and we were not able to. In past events they would show pictures of family/friends' cards (the back) and CM's were able to just plug in the number and hand out the magnets. I'm assuming this is being done to stop that from happening.

I have a friend who has one of my Magicbands and a copy of my card and ID - do you think they will let her get Minnie with that?

When I asked, she just told me they were gone and they weren’t getting any more. I asked two different people

I know this is an old thread, but I had the nicest surprise in my mailbox today! We went to AK twice during the distribution time frame but were unable to get one. I don’t know what prompted this pixi dust but I hope anyone else who was there and missed out gets it too!

Wow that’s awesome. I told someone on the phone we were there when they ran out and they said I had to go back to AK and talk to someone there. We did tell someone the day we were there but we live an hour away so it’s not like we can just drive over there. I’m not expecting one in the mail
