Hi we are flying to orlando on the 30th August (staying off site), we are celebrating our Silver Wedding on the 2nd Sept & are wondering if anyone can recommend a good place for a meal..
Thx

This really depends on whether you want to eat in Disney or off site.

There are various top class restaurants in WDW - Victoria & Alberts (in the Grand Floridian), Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom etc. but I think you would need to book well in advance for WDW restaurants.

Off site there is Bahama Breeze (which we love), Cafe tu tu Tango, Don Pablos, etc and they are on International Drive.

There are so many to choose from. Congratulations on your Silver Anniversary !!

Le Cellier in Epcot (Canada) has always been very good with a freat selection of wines.

We always enjoy our wedding anniversary at either the California Grill at the Contemporary or Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Hi Ian & Linda

We are celebrating our anniversary in Florida this year too. Our 30th - on 2nd September!!

We are going with our 5 kids and their various hangers on (wives and girlfriends) so it will be 10 of us altogether.

Can't really suggest any special place to go other than those already suggested but just thought it was interesting.

I'm really interested in these replies - we're celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at SSR in October. Thanks for the great suggestions.

We celebrated our siver wedding anniversary at California Grill last year and had a wonderful evening. Our meal was superb and we finished off with a pre-ordered celebration cake, a sponge with white chocolate cream icing!:lovestruc We were able to enjoy Wishes before dessert (did I tell you about the cake? Mmmm) although because of the size of our party (hangers on :rotfl: ) we couldn't get a window table. The viewing gallery is just a few steps away so it was no hardship.

When I made the ADR I mentioned the special celebration and did so again on the morning of the anniversary when I called to confirm our "special" ADR as had been suggested on these boards, also checking on the cake (had I mentioned the cake?) which I had ordered 48 hours earlier. The maitre d, shortly after our arrival came to take a photo of the 2 of us, the result of which is standing close to me right now, a reminder of a thoroughly delightful evening. (No pictures of the cake though.)

I'm sure there are other lovely places to spend your anniversary but CG certainly did it for us.

Have a great celebration.

Tony

Hey guys

Congratulations on your 25th.
Why not try Private Dining at the Grand Floridian - you can choose your own private location, you have your own butler for the night and can even specialise your menus - they will provide anything and everything you need.

We did this for our 10th Anniversary back in August 2007 and it was very special. It was a great way to mark the occasion and, as you'd expect with Disney, everything was thought of, as well as little extras that we didn't expect - truly amazin!!

:thumbsup2 :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :thumbsup2

where did you order the cake from Tony

Hi Ali

You know I couldn't remember offhand but I just googled "Disboards cake thread" and there it was - all the info (and more) that you require - 200 pages of Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread in the Disney restaurants section.

You can order from practically any restaurant for delivery even to your room if you wish. There are pictures galore with lots of styles and sizes. I have to say it was tremendous value with plenty for dessert for 9 of us with nearly half left over to take away to enjoy at our leisure.;)

Later this year we will celebrate DD's 21st with a Disney cake.

Thx for all your responses.. i now look forward to looking at the many suggestions posted..

Thx
