Has anyone been to Silver Springs and is it worth the trip from Orlando?

Greetings,
My wife & I went there for the first time last year. It is a little bit of a drive from the attractions area though. If you like nature attractions then I think this will interest you. The tour guides are very "folksy" and they have interesting stories to relay. They do also offer concerts during the summer months at no additional charge. I think it is worthwhile if you want to experience something different from what the theme parks have to offer. Oh by the way, if you do have interest in going, go to their web site. They offer a discount there that beats the discounts that you would get from AAA or other sources. Have fun with your vacation planning.

SS is about a 2hr drive from Orlando and is best avoided at the weekends, when it gets very busy with locals. But it is a nice change of pace from Orlando and is quite home-spun by comparison, with a lot of accent on nature. Some good shows, though, and the Jeep Safari is also very good.

Thank you for the replies. I think I will plan a visit there. I hope they aren't too busy on a Friday. That is the only day I have open.
