Silver Lake vs. Windsor Hills

We just had an amazing stay at Windsor Hills a few weeks ago. We're going back in December and plan to stay off site again. We were planning on WH again, but I have heard some DISers rave about Silver Lake Resort. First of all, where do you book Silver Lake through? How does it compare to Windsor Hills as far as location and amenities? We had no issues driving to and from the parks from WH. We loved being able to walk to the pool and the big playground was a huge hit with our toddler. We loved having a full kitchen and our own washer and dryer.

I have not heard of Silver Lake, but if you are looking for other resorts, Champsiongate is a great new community. The clubhouse will not be ready until Q1 2015, though.

Silver Lake Resort is located very close to Animal Kingdom. If you went to Disney via Sherberth Rd when you stayed at WH you passed it on your way. I don't know anything much about Silver Lake other than it's a timeshare resort unlike WH which is not.

There was a lot of building going on next door to Silver Lake resort when we were last there in March. New vacation homes going up I think. I would be careful to be sure the building is not causing excessive noise/mess at Silver Lake. I don't think the building could be done yet as they had just leveled and were packing down the ground in prep for building.
