I know the answer to this, but just to stop the little voice in my brain from jabbering...

Even off-property guests can use the Disney busses to travel from AK to say Epcot, correct?

My silly answer is:
Officially, if you buy any WDW park ticket, you can ride any WDW transportation.

In addition, in the 25 years I've been going to WDW, I've never been asked for any ID to ride a bus, monorail or boat.

Yes, you are right...once inside Disney property (including Downtown Disney), you can use the transportation! Just make sure you know where you're going and what bus number to get on, and also the buses don't go from park to park....they only go to the hotels from the parks, so you need to keep that in mind when traveling Disney Transportation! (The monorail of course does both EPCOT and MK along with the Contemporary, Poly and Grand Floridian, although changes are necessary at the TTC.)

Maybe I'm crazy  but I could have sworn I have taken a bus from one park to another park. Especially from AK to another park. Otherwise how would people "park hop"? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but WDW busses do go from park to park. (I realize not every park if there is some other from of transportation like a boat or monorail offered.)

Yes, you can take a bus from park to park, in most cases. Except Magic Kingdom. In that case you either to to TTC and transfer or to the closest hotel and then transfer. When I left MGM going to Magic Kingdom I went to Pop (closest resort) then caught the bus to Magic Kingdom. Of course, when going to/from Magic Kingdom/Epcot I always go via monorail through TTC.

Have fun!

Actually there is park to part transportation via, bus, boat or monorail depending on the park, as well as resort to park transportation. IIRC the difficulty is getting from resort to resort and DTD directly to/from a park. For DTD you have to go via a resort and for resort to resort you have to go via a park.

So yes, there is a direct but from AK to Epcot (as well as all the other parks) and if you have a park pass you may use it. No need for a number just follow the signs at the exit to the bus stop marked Epcot.

A second idea - it may seem like it takes more time in the morning, but you can park your car at Epcot and take the bus to AK and then back to Epcot. Same amount of bussing but your car is where you will end up as opposed to having trek through the AK parking lot at night.

Also, you can get a receipt when you pay for parking and use it in the next lot and not have to pay twice. Just some other options to think of...

Just a FYI... even park tickets are not required to ride disney transport.

I'm glad to hear this.

Can you be more specific?

Is this "official"?

Can anyone just walk up to a boat, bus, or monorail and board to go to any WDW location?
(Not speacking of an "Illuminations" or similar cruise, just the "public" transports.)

Thanks!

In the course of about 8-9 trips to WDW, I have never been asked to show ID before getting on any type of transport...boat, bus, monorail. Didn't matter if I was boarding at a park or at a resort...no ID was needed.

Legally speaking.......I believe WDW policy is that anyone with a valid WDW theme park admission can use all available transportation. In reality, in all my visits to WDW I have never been asked for any kind of ID to use WDW transportation.

Well, if we're falling back on "legally speaking" -- Legally speaking, there are lots of restrictions Disney is allowed to apply to the use of its transportation. No one has a truly "unlimited" right to use available transportation. For example, while it happens very, very infrequently, park-to-resort hotel and resort hotel-to-park transportation can be limited, at specific times, to resort guests only. The other rare-but-still-happens limitation involves parks at capacity, when transportation to that park is curtailed.

There is no transportation from DTD to parks...

They changed this because people were parking for free and going to the parks, leaving no parking for those shopping.
