*GASP* at the thought, I cannot look into the future and ever see a day where my kids are just not bouncing off the walls with excitement, but does it actually happen? I am sure at 16, 17 years old, if the kids have been going every year, they may want to try something new, but how about the younger kids..say 10, 11, 12??? My oldest is 7, and up to this point, he has had new rides he can go on with each trip because of height restrictions and him getting taller, so each trip was like new, in fact he is looking forward to November when he can ride the R&R coaster for the 1st time because he is FINALLY 48 inches tall.

But, will there be a day when the kids are not just beyond thrilled to be going to Disney AGAIN? Everyone non-Disney tells me my kids will get sick of it, I just can't see it happening..Heck, I am not tired of it yet! LOL

Friends of ours told us about thier 15 and 16 year old who were bored. We think that's one of the reasons we hope the point values for the trade options remain reasonable, or should I say refrain from continuing to climb into the unreasonable. Those nice trade options at that stage of our kids lives would be a great alternative and keep our vacation investment viable.

yes -disney is old hat - but hey that is what IOA is for - teenagers!!! they will grow out of it and love WDW again....

there are other theme parks in Orlando besides WDW - so try some of the others if your children are tried of WDW.

there is just about everything in the entertainment world know to man somewhere in Orlando....(know I don't think they do snow sking - but give someone time and I am sure they will)

It's not the case for us yet...our dd's are 3 and 6 and they've gone 3 times together and our oldest went once when she was 2 without her younger sister.

So far they still love WDW and get excited but my sister doesn't go anymore (she's been 6 times with her children) because they are not interested anymore. They are 17 and 20.

She asked me the other day how I get them so excited about going because even when her kids were littled they were not excited about going to WDW!!!!

I don't know. Maybe all kids are different or maybe it's my involving them in the planning and also they see how excited I am and it rubs off a bit?? I don't know. But I will be very sad when the day comes that they don't want to go anymore.

I guess then we'll have to do a trade off to Hawaii!

My children are 21 and 16 and they still LOVE to go to Walt Disney World. We are going for Christmas and staying at the BWV and my sister, brother and his family are joining us! My children look forward to every trip we take down there! I don't think either one of them will ever be bored with Disney!

Heck no, at least not my three who are now 22, 21 and 18.

For 11 years OKW has been our annual destination, but we've also gone to CA (yes, we visited DL while there), MA, TN, GA, AL, the FL panhandle, DC among other places, and one of our kids has gone to France.

You know what? We all agree that WDW is the best. I've never heard a single complaint that we're going again or that they're bored.

As they got older, they enjoyed being able to plan their own day/night. If they want to stay with us, fine, if not they go off on their own and meet us for lunch/dinner.

I can't speak for everyone, but our kids (or "young adults" at this point) still love our Disney trips. (Beware taking them on the cruise. That's a whole other addiction.);)

When ours finished high school, (age 17-18) They did find WDW too tame. So for less than half the price of a Disney AP, we got US/IOA APs for 2 years (buy1 get 2nd year free), and SeaWorld APs for them. DVC is a great way to visit the Orlando area and keep the costs down, and the drive to these other parks is easy. I think DW and I will do the same, get US/IOA and SW passes, since Disney doesn't care to give us a deal on passes, I'll let the other parks make a few extra bucks on passes and meals for a while.

The potential for overdoing WDW is also one of the reasons we enjoy going to Vero for a nice relaxing beach vacation.

Two out of 3 of my kids are bored with WDW, one has not gone in 10 years in spite of everything being free to her. Only one is still interested in going. You can add me to that list also, if you are counting members, I am giving WDW a rest for a year and half after this next visit. My kids are in their twenties now.

Yes,thank goodness. I can now finally afford to go. Using more points for their own studio was bad. Buying park passes for them was worse. But feeding the two walking dumpsters was killing me.We just put feed bags around their necks and every time they walked in front of a food cart the vender would just drop something in a swipe the card. I think I saved money shipping them off to college.

Yes and no. Bored going just with mom. Still enjoys going if he can take friends. Just asked last night if I would book several units for a senior trip next May before his school's official senior trip in June. I asked where he wants to stay, and he said definitely OKW. Reminded him of the action at BWV because I also have points there, but he wants the size of the OKW units.

I was fortunate to visit WDW quite often from 3-10 years of age. I never got bored of it during that timeframe. I went back when I was 14 and EPCOT was new so I enjoyed that. Went back when I was 18 and was bored out of my mind. No interest. I didn't go back until I was 25 when dating my wife to be. I had interest in the Disney Vacation Club on that trip but I hadn't realized that the girl I was dating was going to be my wife 4 years later. Well during our first trip with our one year old son it was an obvious decision to purchase DVC.

Bottom line is the good old feelings came back when my family began.

DD12 claims that she still loves WDW after 7 visits in the last two years. However, on our last trip, I couldn't get her going in the morning. I don't think we ever got to a park before 11 am. And then she figured out how to get internet access on her laptop in our room. I will never forget that she wouldn't leave her laptop to watch Illuminations from our balcony at BCV. She still likes E-night, pin trading, live entertainment, snacking. Most of Animal Kingdom and parts of MGM are good (TOT). She likes the rides, but doesn't mind if we skip them. We're doing one last trip on our AP's before they expire Sept. 1 (I'm making sure the laptop stays home), then will probably take a nice long break and use the tail end of our US/IOA's AP's next March. Of course, she is NOT bored with cruising! Diana

My children are now 12 and 10. They have been to WDW for 2 weeks every year since they were 2 years and 4 months respectively. They still look forward to each trip. Every year it is different, they go on different rides, do differnet things. As we say to people that say to us " what WDW again? Don't you get tired of it? " We do the same things in different ways each year. They now enjoy AK, Epcot more and we do less things at MK. More swimming, enjoying OKW, mini-golf.

Bored no...or at least not yet

I hear this from alot of non-Disney people too! My two boys are 8 and 11 and still look forward to going every year. We also did IOA and Universal last year (which they loved), and we're adding on the cruise this fall.

I also figure, right now I can still take them out of school for a fall vacation now, but the time will come when we'll have to go over summers or holidays (i.e. higher point cost), and we'll have to go with a 2 BR (again higher point cost), so we'll probably not be able to go every year anymore any how.

Just my two cents.

Intersting post. We're a divided family. Since our kids sort of grew up at Disney (back when we lived locally and went every couple of weeks), no one complained.

Since then, 16 year old DD hasn't flagged in her enthusiasm at all, but it all has to do with who she's bringing with her on any given trip. She's like me - she absolutely adores "introducing" WDW to first-timers. You gotta admit, what's familiar to us is a revelation to others.

DS, 20 (shown below -a great kid!) is a tougher sell. We went last December and stayed concierge at AKL, and he enjoyed that. But the parks have gotten to be stale for him, just because he's experienced some, uh, significant excitement in the last couple of years vocationally! BUT - we did make a first-time trip to IOA during our stay, and the whole family had a blast. It won't take the place of my beloved Disney, but I can recognize quality of a different sort just as well. He'll come around after he's done with his military stint.

God help me, I do love Disney so.

But feeding the two walking dumpsters was killing me.

Just wait until they're able to join you in sipping a margarita, or two, or three.........or ten.;)

Tired of Disney! I will not allow it!!!!;) I 'll just go without them, and they can stay at home with other boring family members!!:teeth:

Soem year, I look forward to going on that river raft ride down the Grand Canyon....

Then there's that Dude ranch option....
