Silly Mistake's

Wearing very comfortable sandals that have never given me a problem. Thought they would be cooler than sneakers. Halfway through the day I started to get blisters. At least I had Moleskin with me to help. It was sneakers for the rest of the trip. I will never bother bringing sandals again.

I have carried rain ponchos with me to Disneyworld 5 or 6 times and never needed them. This last week we got caught in the rain all evening and all our ponchos were back at the hotel still in the suitcase. Next time I will pay more attention to the weather and throw them in my backpack when I leave for the parks. My husband had to buy 4 Mickey Mouse ponchos for $28 just to get us back to the monorail. Also, my camera died first thing after getting to the park one morning. All my extra batteries were, you guessed it, back at the resort.

I didn't listen to EVERYONE on this board that Epcot can't be done in a day.

We DID do Epcot in one day, but couldn't walk for the next 2 days :faint:

On our very first trip to WDW ( 1993 ) We got the "Unlimited Magic Pass" that was included in the whole package. BUT ..... one of those days we went to Universal, instead of a Disney Park. It took me a while to realize that we had then paid for the day at Universal and ALSO paid for that same day for a Disney Park. I never did it that way again !

The next year, we spent 2 nights at an "El Cheapo" motel first, while we did Universal, then did a Disney Resort and stayed at Disney Parks.
That worked out much better. :goodvibes

biggest mistake: staying off site first trip, will never do that again

silliest mistake : coming out the wrong exit at the mk/fantasy land turned the wrong way and getting lost since i couldn't figure out how i came out someplace else?(we've only been going there for 20 yrs, can see how i got lost) probably will do this again;)

Done those things, and also, along those same lines, remembered to bring my prescription medication to WDW in case I got a migraine. Well, I did, in AK-my medication was at the resort. One trip I was in such a hurry to get to the MK for the parade that I didn't realize that I'd forgotten the medication I had to take every 4 hours. So we had to go back to the resort, and missed the parade! But the biggest, silliest mistake was in 1997, when we were offered a great price to change from POFQ to a studio at OKW (manager's special) when we made last minute ressies and we didn't take the offer. OKW for $20/nite more than POFQ.

We should get the award for most bone headed thing done at DW. We left world showcase got to the exit of the park and asked someone what the quickest way to beaches and cream was :rotfl2: Imagine our suprise when we found out we were but a short walk from the place at WS:rotfl: I'm laughing about it now but I did not find it quite so funny then!

Trying to take Disney Transportation from All Star Sports to Downtown Disney -- ended up taking over an hour and a half each way.

Taking Disney Transportation from the Dolphin to the Contemporary -- another unnecessarily long bus ride. Anytime we need to get from resort to resort, or to DTD now, we just drive.

Not using the single riders line -- after reading earlier posts, we will definitely incorporate this into our ride strategy this year!

Not booking the Fantasmic dinner package the first couple of times we went (didn't know it existed!), and waiting in line over an hour before entering the stadium.

We've done this too! Headed out of the CR and took a wrong turn , ended up 30-40 miles south of Orlando and we were supposed to be heading north to TN! We've been a dozen times and couldn't believe we couldn't find our way out!

We've made a few mistakes, especially on our earlier trips, like staying off-site or booking an expensive package. Our biggest mistake, though, occurred about 2 years ago.

We had decided to visit Universal before staying at a Disney resort and visiting the parks. So, we bought 3 day passes and stayed at Springfield Suites near Downtown Disney. We went to Univeral the first day and it was okay. The 2nd day, we went to IOA and couldn't wait to ride the new Mummy ride. DH, being a pooh sized guy, asked an employee before we boarded the ride if he would have any trouble. The employee didn't think so. However, when we went to sit on the ride, DH couldn't buckle the seat belt. The attendant made it difficult for us to get off of the ride and it turned into an attention drawing scene. That was very embarressing to DH and upsetting to us. We were so disgusted, we ended up dumping the rest of our ticket and went to MK. We couldn't add on to our Disney tickets because they were special ones we bought to attend a sporting event. We really felt like we had wasted time and money.
