Silliest Thing You've Bought at Disney

The Sorcerer hat with ears. It sits on a shelf and I have no clue what I was thinking at the time.

Grab bags from DTD forget from where. But that thing was loaded with unuseable stuff.. :sad2: Who needs a Haunted Mansion squishey coffin??? :hmghost:

Last August my daughter wanted to by something so bad on our first day we told her after hours of begging that she could use her money to buy anything she wanted at the ten dollar store in DD. What did she chose-A bag full of polished rocks!!! She spent ten dollars to buy not only a little bag for her but for her little brother as well. Guess we should have gave in when she wanted the t-shirt from earlier. Lesson learned. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
We stayed at the WL for my DS's first trip (he'd just turned 3) and that's what he chose from the store in the lobby - a bag of rocks. I think he started out with 16 rocks and now we are down to 11 and he recently lost the bag. We'll be back at the WL in 7 weeks and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what he wants to buy with his Disney Dollars again.

I bought a little can of kitty treats...for 9$!!!! I would have never bought that normally, and my kitties didn't even like them  !!!

But in my defense, I still use the container to store cheaper and better quality treats :lmao: !!!!

When my DD was about 3, she wanted a big Mylar Pooh-head balloon... UNTIL WE GOT UP CLOSE! After I spent $8 on the thing, it terrified her, and she screamed! So, I ended up making some random kid's day!

This is not really silly, but I can't believe I spent the money on it - a roll of film for $10 at MGM! We were right in the middle of character autographs and ran out of film. Of course, I had not packed enough film that day. Never again will that happen! Have loved everything else we have ever gotten!

I hear ya!!! Except, I later found film in my bag!! Boy did I learn my lesson. :sad2:

I can't think of anything else silly that I bought. Maybe the stuffed Ursula I bought for my niece (since that is her favorite) - and she's 29!!!

I don't think it is silly - though it does make me smile....

A mickey head (fake) diamond ring.

I lost my diamond from my engagement ring about a month ago, and when we were in the World last week, my DH scoped out the rings at MK. We went out to dinner that night at Kona Cafe and I stopped in the gift shop to browse. They had similar rings, so just for fun I asked to try one on. My DH joined me and asked, which one do you want. He said it can hold me over till I get a replacement diamond for my engagement ring. I think it looks great and it makes me happy.

Office supplies, namely Mickey head paper clips...five bucks for 25 of 'em...ouch! At least my Disney-fan clients get a kick out of them.

ahhhhhhhhhh!

I truly believe they put something in the air at WDW. I even have a sense when I'm buying things that I don't know why I'm doing it. Why did I need a Mickey Mouse nail file?? I've almost given in and bought one of those monstrous hats. We do, however, get lots of use out of our Santa ones with character ears, whether we are at Disney or not.

Huge foam mickey ears. (See photo in my signature). Myself and two of my friends bought these and wore them around the parks. We looked pretty hideous, but we had a good time getting lots of stares and laughs from people. Even the CM's were getting a kick out of us looking like idiots.

:Pinkbounc My sister bought for my nephew a Buzz Lightyear toy that looked like a small megaphone. The gimmick was that it changed the sound of whoever spoke into it. He was doing something that his mother wanted him to stop and when she was reprimanding him, he held it up to her mouth and she immediately sounded like a robot! It was extremely funny and to this day we remember it and still laugh. :Pinkbounc

on our last trip i bought 2 of the red bandanas for my dogs! they say "my human went to walt disney world and all i got was this lousy bandana". i have the 2 most spoiled dogs ever! (chocolate labs), and i couldn't bare to not bring them something! :teeth:

I bought one of those for my dog too!!! :rotfl2:

I have a collection of stuffed hats. The last one we got was a stuffed christmas tree with the characters hanging off it that lights up. Cute at Disney useless at home. We also have the Goofy hats, Mickey Hand hats.... take your pick we have them :D

Also one year it was so cold we were looking for blankets to cover the girls up in the stroller. The only thing we could find were beach towels so they were bundled up in those.

Also that same year something I thought I would never buy at Disney were hats, gloves and hand warmers!!!!

The silliest thing? Had to be the invisible dog :lmao: I bought it on Main Street at the joke shop that's no longer there. It's just a leash that looks like there should be a dog inside it. Well, a man came down the street and "pretended" that his invisible dog and my invisible dog were fighting. He was tugging at his to keep away from mine. He made his dog chase mine around the lamppost, complete with sound effects. I couldn't stop laughing! In fact, every one on the street was laughing! I'd love to meet that guy again; he was hysterical. :goodvibes

I bought one of those too! I was like 5 at the time. I had it hiding in a closet until this summer. It seemed really cool at the time.

I also bought one of those umbrellas from the China pavillion. It is beautiful but I have no where to display it. I bought it knowing I had no use for it. I really think Disney puts something in the air that makes you believe these purchases are worthwhile.

I bought my 6month old nephew a HUGE Winnie the Pooh at DTD(even had to have it shipped!). It cost over $100 and is bigger than him! My sister in law did give me a great picture of him sitting in front of Pooh and just casually leaning back on Pooh's belly. Well worth the cost!

I bought two huge Pez dispensers (well over 12" in height) of Mickey & Minnie, both cost $25 each, along w/huge never-ending pez candies to go into them. I don't know why I bought them....they are still sitting in my closet. :confused3

Can you tell me how much the rings were? I might like one. Thanks

They are around $17 - $20. I think I have bought one of just about every style. I have had problem's with the stones falling out so I just bring them back and they gladly exchange them.

I also bought the $9 cat treats and the large pez dispenser of Tigger. Tigger sits in my office at school. I have about 30 packages of pez because parents want to re-stock me when they go down to the world.
