I haven't been on this board in a while. DD keeps me busy and we started sewing. I am wanting to get a silhouette cameo. Between my mom and I we have 2 cricut expressions and a Pazzle. I want to be able to design and cut all the cute SVG files. Do I need Sure Cuts a lot for the Cameo to cut SVG's? Do Reddy's files work with the Cameo? I wonder if I even need a Cameo since we have a Pazzle and sure cut a lot will work on that too. Is it really that great?

I have not seen or used a Pazzle, so I can't anser that question.

But the ONE feature of the Silhouette family is the Print N Cut, it is spot on. If you want to see a video of that feature, check out Under a Cherry Tree's blog.

To cut the SVG's directly, you will need to do one of the these options:

1. use inkscape to save the svg file as a .dxf file. Inkscape is free. Then use the Silhouette Studio software to open the .dxf file.

2. Upgrade the Silhouette Studio (which is free) to the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition (SSDE). The SSDE will open svg files directly. The price for the upgrade is $50 retail, or you can get it as low as $25-$30 if on sale or with a code.

3. Use another third party software, such as Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) version 3, or Make the Cut... SO, if you already have SCAL2, you can upgrade to SCAL3 for free.

Hope this helps answer your questions.
