I've read to sign up as early as possible. Is it typically a long process? I'm trying to fit the sign up process into our tour plan.

There even appears to be a NEW process that takes place up to an hour before the park opens. It remains to be seen if that is, in fact, the "new procedure." If it DOES turn out to be the permanent process, guests would want to arrive at the park gates about an hour before the park is scheduled to open.
(I have no idea if this would affect AM EMH arrival times.)

The process, individually, is not long, but the child who will be participating must be at the sign-up and answer a question or two from the CM.

If you are a bit deeper in a long line, that's where the extra time can come in.

We were at HS on Sunday EMH and they opened the gates at 8 and let everyone right in. We didn't go to Jedi signup so not sure if wait. We went Friday and got there about quarter till 9 (opening) and they were holding people at ropes but as we neared the rope they let people in. We walked to Jedi signup and they said 45 minute wait. No idea what time they were letting people over there, but we ended up not waiting. There is no way they were holding people that way with ropes. The line was back into Indiana jones.
