I am going to Disney World in December and will be on the deluxe dining plan. I want to eat at sit down signature restaurants to get are money's worth but was wondering how long the meals usually took. I know they are three courses, so on average how long does it take to eat breakfast lunch and dinner at a sit down signature restaurant?

You are usually out in approx 1hour to 1 and a half hours. For 3 courses and coffee.

Depending on where you are from will affect your view.
We are from UK and find it to be very fast service, but the same can be said of a lot of the restaurants in the USA. The service tends to be much slower and spread out in Europe.

We love the signature restaurants the food is a real step up, especially in the resorts.

Cocktails, appies, meal and dessert and coffee...2 hours for sure

Not all sit down table service (TS) restaurants are Signature restaurants. I don't think any Signature restaurant serves either breakfast or lunch.

In our experience, TS dinners (non-signature) average 60 - 90 minutes. Signature dinners average 90 - 120 minutes, maybe more.

We never eat breakfast in a restaurant and most often eat CS (Counter Service) lunch. On those occasions when we have eaten TS lunch it is still greater than one hour to eat.

These times do not include wait times to be seated. Even if you have an ADR - which you must to maximize your credits - you are only assured the next available table. They do not hold tables for you like a traditional reservation.

We ate at Yachtsman earlier in the week, and were there for a little over 2.5hours, Le Cellier was right at 2 hours. The other TS places we ate, Ohana, Kona Cafe, Boatwrights, were between and hour and an hour an a half. Whispering Canyon was 2.5 hours, but this included 45 minutes of wait time for our table (yes, we had an ADR). Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern & Prime Time 50's was a little over an hour, and Yak & Yeti our lunch was closer to an hour and a half. All of our breakfasts (Akershus & Tusker House) were an hour or less.

I grossly underestimated the time it would take us to eat... so I hope this helps you plan better than I did! :confused3

We've done the deluxe dining twice and both times in December.
For breakfast you can be in and out in an hour - we've only ever done buffets or family style at OHana. I think the only signature breakfast is Cinderella's RT. Very expensive and horrible food but very special for little princesses!
I'd allow at least 2 hours for a signature dinner. You want to relax and you don't want to rush. These dinners were our favourite part of the day. We could enjoy a glass of wine with our appetizers, reflect on the day and plan a bit for the next day - thoroughly enjoyable. I also found my kids were quite happy to have good meals with vegetables and to sit and relax too.
Our fav. signature restaurants are Cali Grill & Jiko.
Good luck and happy planning!

Citricos.....40 minutes from start to finish....DH and I were very disappointed that we were so rushed.....$140.00!!!!

Cinderellas Royal Table is considered a signature and they serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner FYI. We were in and out of there within an hour, probably the quickest meal we had period. On average I didn't really notice the signature meals being longer than the regular ones to tell ya the truth. Narcoossee's and Cali Grill was about 2 hours but that was because we wanted to drag it out and watch the water pageant and fireworks. I NEVER felt rushed in any Signature place (besides CRT), esp. Citricos and if it weren't for a time limit on the kids clubs I would have glady sat there for a couple of more hours after our meal ;) On average I would say 1 1/2 to 2 hours from our experiences.

We love going to sigs !

I agree. When we eat at a signature restaurant we are usually there 2 hours...and if we are really enjoying ourselves and not in a hurry, we have been known to be there for 2 and half to 3 hours.

3 hrs for dinner ??, do they even let you sit there that long, I cant see that with all the ressies they have on a nightly basis. 1 1/2 is usually the norm when eating at a TS restaurant. The only restaurant that we have been to longer than 2 hrs is Victoria and Alberts

When we went, it was at Cali Grill during the first seating when DH and I were doing a date night and our server was being extra slow, which we didn't mind at all. We ordered drinks before our dinner and after our dinner and just enjoyed the atmosphere. This was also during a non peak time and not a lot of people dining then. This happened only once, but normally when we dine at signatures it is around the 2 hour mark, maybe 2 and half hours if we are being slow :goodvibes. You are right, if it was a busier time of year or during Wishes, we probably would not be able to of sat for that long.

We had almost the same experience. It was our first time at CG. We were "done" for the day. We had a 7:30 ADR and left after Wishes were done. We had to take the monorail to MK then a bus to BC but it was well worth it.

As long as your are eating, drinking, etc. most restaurants won't rush you out.
Our Signature dinners run around 2 hours usually. We always get drinks, apps, the entree and dessert--and to prevent the bums rush we always order each course seperately.

we have never gotten out of signature restaurant in less than 90 minutes (on the deluxe plan with appetizer, entree, dessert) Some have taken as much 2 hours...some waiters will deliberately pace the meal to stretch it out.

Now on regular dining (no appetizer) then yes, 45-60 minutes is common, even at signature places.

Most of our TS meals were between and hour and an hour and a half. There was once or twice where we stretched the meal out...but regardless of whether it was a signature or regular table service the speed of the meal was matched to whatever pace we set for it.
