Does anyone know how they handle the signups? Guest services when boarding, kids club staff?? We live near Disneyland but have never had the chance to do it there, it fills up so fast. So really hoping when we board the fantasy in less than 2 weeks. How do they select who gets to do it, I'm sure every child on board is hoping, looks amazing. Thanks in Advance and hoping for any tips. Please!!!

We just returned from the January 20th sailing. There was a special form delivered to the stateroom to rank the experiences you wished to select for the SWDAS. You needed to return it by a certain day and once assigned, a ticket or letter with instructions for your experience were left for you. We recvd a meet& greet experience time ticket by the next day (chosen for us, you also don't which character will be present during your time slot). The day before SWDAS we recvd info for Jedi training and an assigned time as well. These were our 1&2 ranked experiences so the kiddos were pleased.

I don't know if they have changed it but this is how it worked last March when we were on a Star Wars cruise. They had multiple sessions a day in the big theater. They chose kids at random. We went to the first session and were there early. We sat DS on the aisle and made sure he was behaving. They picked him right off the bat. I had heard they preferred the kids not be wearing sandals so he had on his tennis shoes. We were very worried because he has sensory processing disorder and we didnt know how he would react up on stage. He loved it! I honestly had some tears in my eyes.

If you are asking about the Jedi Training in the theater, I don't believe there are sign-ups in advance. I've read conflicting reports but most seem to indicate the kids are randomly chosen (versus first-come first-chosen). Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Here's a thread about experience on the Dream: http://www.disboards.com/threads/jedi-training-dream.3561254/#post-56766453

Enjoy your cruise!

No, like the above poster said it is NOT a random pick any more. When you board your cruise there is a form in your room that you need to fill out, ranking your choices from 1-5. This needs to be handed in by 11pm on the second night of your cruise (box at guest services). The day before SWday the tickets are left in your room. We received our meet and greet tickets (one ticket per cabin) and then two tickets for Jedi training (one for each of our girls) and an assigned time. Every child that gets a jedi training ticket is chosen.

I cannot begin to thank you enough for the info. I had not seen anything about signing up for the Jedi training class. And it wasn't with the ticketed meet and greets either. This seems like a really fair way to do it. We just have one 7 yr old boy who is crazy Star Wars fan :0) Like the rest of us. Had not occurred to me that it might be one of the Star Wars experience choices. If I may ask if you or if anyone else happens to know- if the mom and son get this choice for their cabin, one photo meet and the Jedi class- does anyone know if we grandparents (not being in the picture or Jedi class) can still go in with our camera, we're not in the same shared cabin but adjacent. We don't want to be in the picture, just take a little GoPro of them having theirs taken or maybe a less posed shot of them interacting? Anyone else been the unobtrusive Grandparent Paparazzi in the background :0) ??

I tried to upload a photo of our Star Wars experience selection form, but it was too big a file. I did submit it to Steve at the cruiselineblog in hopes he could upload it there. There were multiple other opportunities to get your Star Wars on as well. The Pool area had 2 Pool Patrol times with a mini show, as well as an evening character show and fireworks on the pool deck - with a late night buffet. There were multiple character experiences/photos in the Ateium all day as well, including trading with the Jawas as they wandered the decks. My girls loved that! The dining menus were Star Wars themed at the venues as well.

The Theater is open for seating of anyone wh is interested in watching and photos are permitted.

Sorry to interrupt, but what were the five choices? Does your whole party have to do the same thing or can you split where you go?
Thanks!
