Sylvester McBean said:you might want to PM lillygator, she lives in SK. we go to SK all the time and the only restaurants I know of are all on the bay, not the the gulf itself. we usually go into siesta village and eat at the Daiquiri Deck. Turtle's has good food, and sits right on the bay. Coaster's is right before you cross the drawbridge on your left and is also on the bay. SKOB (siesta key oyster bar) is in siesta village, as is the Lobster Pot. the restaurants in the village tend to be outdoors, and can get crazy, especially at night. you can find a parking space in the village and walk the restaurants and shops. the restaurants on the bay are a mile or two from the beach.

Sylvester McBean said:the great thing about SK is there are no hotels anywhere near the beaches. you're going to look for a rental, apartment, condo.

Absolutely, if you are driving onto the key from the South Bridge (as you would pass Coasters) turn left at the light. Crescent Beach Grocery is there and Captain Curt's....on your right, almost immediatley is a public parking access..it's very narrow but park there and walk straight down....to the beach....(I can't remember the names of the two condo's it's in between) once you hit the beach look to your left and you'll see the wall and the point of rocks - nto far at all. In fact this is Crescent Beach and this is "our" beach, so don't tell anyone! We usually go here over Siesta...especially during season, it's usually deserted aside from runners/walkers/shellers. It's been so chilly we haven't walked down there in a while! Hope to get back there soon! Nothing like a green flash sunset on Siesta Key!Sylvester McBean said:offtopic quickly for lilligator:
do you know of a parking area near the point o' rocks area? I want to take the girls diving there, but don't want to carry the gear a mile.![]()

Javier's is great, it's on the right hand side passed Captain Curt's in a small shopping plaza where City Pizza and Siesta Spirits are.
